Why don't they ever snap wands?

During duels when they get other wands why don't they snap them? I mean then you win basically.

Why snapping wand while you can use magic?

Maybe it's one of those honor things...
You know, like in old gun duels, the point was to hit the person without killing them. So that could be why they don't snap wands... for similar reasons. Honor, respect, yada yada yada...

OK, the question: Why don't wizards, upon acquiring their opponent's wand during a duel, snap them in half?
My answer: Something to do with honor, like in gun fights where your target was to hit but not kill. You know, get the wand but don't destroy it.

Yea I mean I thought of the whole honor deal but still it seems like saving someones life would be worth losing honor.

The same reason that the newest generation is at a loss at what to do with the TV once they've lost the remote...ignoring the fact that there are manual controls on teh actual TV.

It's just an ingrained habit. And partly an honor matter, I would think.
No one thinks of nuking or shooting an opponent with a gun either, but with an element of suprise there is no reason why that shouldn't work. (Guns, being mechanical, could very well be exempted from the magic-interference rule.)
