Default Norbert Returns

Am I a prophet or what?

(see “The Restricted Section of the Library forum / Deathly Hallows”)
In the thread, “Mrs. Weasly Is The New Dada Teacher,” I said:

I think that the dragon they're riding in the cover art is Norbert.
I'm nearly sure of it.

Hatched by Hagrid, raised by Charlie.
And in the Sorcer’s Stone, chapter 14, Harry was present when Norbert hatched. The book doesn’t say who Norbert saw first.
It's all set up and ready to go.

Charlie has been seriously underutilized in the story.
Maybe this is why.

I'm with you Psyduck. I've been waiting for Charlie to be a bigger part of this.

I'm still rooting for Charlie as the new DADA teacher.

New thought: What if Charlie takes up Care of Magical Creatures and Hagrid takes on the DADA job because everyone else is too afraid of it or otherwise occupied.

Remember Gilderoy. Compared to him Hagrid's a brainiac.

That could work. They say Hagrid's a-gonner anyway.
On the other hand...

That's true. In "The Flight of the Prince" chapter, he couldn't even figure out how to put out the fire in his house.
No, I'd say that Hagrid is definately out of the running.

That would be very cool to see Charlie as the new DADA teacher.

But Charlie as CoMC teacher isn't too shabby either. It actually fits in rather nicely with a Norbert coming back with him scenario - if Charlie actually has been nurturing Norbert.

The more I think about it the more I feel that Hagrid is ripe for the DADA job. Psyduck's right, a lot of people do think he's about to kick it, but there's more. He is after all a strong contendor, if not the only one, for the Head of the house of Gryffindor position. A bungling buffoon though he his, the DADA teacher position has seen worse than the likes of Hagrid. And you must admit it would be fun to see him make a mess of it.

Whatever happens, I think we all agree that Charlie playing a major role would be awesome.
