| I have read in several websites that there will be more info on Lily Evans in the last book. "Harry has his father and mother's good looks. But he has his mother's eyes and that's very important in a future book. Rowling has also said there will be more details about Lily in the seventh and final Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows." Do you also think that Lily had dated Snape at one time? Maybe that could be another in which he hates Harry so much because he could have been his son with her. Rowling did say that Snape did not have a dughter but she never said that she did bot have a son. |

| I think Snape had a major thing for Lily. She was nice to him but that was where it ended. Snape hated James anyway and became even more bitter when he ended up with the girl he liked. I think he hates Harry because he is a reminder that James got his girl. |

I agree with you. Lily stuck up for Snape when James picked on him, and even though he was nasty to her, he appreciated her standing up to his archenemy. I think Snape's (Professor Snape!) guilt and reason for protecting Harry stems from his love for Lily. |

[/b][/quote] You're almost on the same page as me. I'm saying that Snape has been a good guy the whole time, not that he was swayed by DD to be nice to muggleborns or whatever. Snape has merely distanced himself from Harry so he can help him right under Voldemort's nose without either Voldemort or Harry ever knowing. By making Harry hate him like that...knowing that Harry never mastered Occlumency...Voldemort will never doubt Severus' loyalty, even though he's helping Harry to destroy the Dark Lord. |
