Anyway...Hermes = Percy's owl?

Yeah, it is, but as much as I'd like to think it has significance, I doubt highly that it does.

Definately Voldemort, Greyback and Bellatrix will die.
And I think that receiving a dementor's kiss is the same thing.
Probably Snape and Peter will die
Neville's Grandmother will be somewhere in the fray and will be injured.
Alice and/or Frank will make at least a partial recovery.
Percy will be tricked into doing something that helps the Death Eaters.
He will die sometime later, in a way not directly related to the trick.
Lupin & Tonks can't die. Their story is undeveloped.
Ron can't die until JKR explains the parallels between him and Dumbledore.
Draco will be killed by Voldemort or Death Eaters because he can't make up his mind.

This is complicated. How many points would this be worth if it's all correct?

I also had another idea. Bonus point if you can describe the method of death for the character and/or who will do it.
Maybe we could even expand this to the "ends" for every character. What I mean is, say you think a character won't die but will end up in prison or get the dementor's kiss (which I saw someone in another thread say they think will happen to Voldemort).
Think that's a good idea?
[/b]
Depending on how you want to count it, the details in my last post could be worth as much as 15 points.
Abs could play a kind of Ludo Bagman role, giving odds on any prediction.
All haggling must end by July 19th?

Sounds interesting. You mean like the more unlikely the prediction, the higher the odds and the more points it could potentially be worth both to gain or lose? Sounds like fun!

Hey Guys, aint bin on for ages and love the death pool idea.

havent quite compiled my full list yet so the wait will have to continue for that but... snape and peter might as well already be buried. both dying whilst aiding harry to destroy a horcrux, snape through choice peter forced by ancient magic.

How about this --

We can predict anything, not necessarily a death.
Each statement counts for one point. If correct, it's a +1; if incorrect, it's a -1.
Each statement must be 100% correct or it is false.

For example:

Voldemort will die or will receive a dementor's kiss (same thing).
Harry will vanquish Voldemort.
Harry will not make the final blow that kills Voldemort.
Harry will survive.
Peter will die.
Peter will help Harry.
Something big will happen on Halloween that will allow Harry to communicate with dead people (perhaps a near-death experience).
Snape will die.
Snape will be a hero.
Dumbledore did not "die," in the usual sense of the word, at the end of the sixth book.
Dumbledore will not "die," in the usual sense of the word, during the seventh book. It's complicated.

Abs -- It's your game. What are the rules?

One more thought --
Epilogues don't count. If I say Harry survives, and the end of the book mentions him dying at the age of 136, that doesn't count. Unless specified by the person making the prediction, we will assume that all predictions are about the main story and the war with Voldemort.
-- Sound good?

All sounds good to me.

But I disagree that death and Dementor's kiss count the same. Gotta pick one or the other. It's picking the specifics that make the game fun
