I pulled these definitions from the Merriam-Webster site because I wasn't completely sure what "Deathly Hallows" really were. deathly (definition) Main Entry: death·ly Function: adjective 1 : FATAL 2 : of, relating to, or suggestive of death Text: likely to cause or capable of causing death hallow (definition) Main Entry: hal·low Function: transitive verb Etymology: Middle English halowen, from Old English hAlgian, from hAlig holy 1 : to make holy or set apart for holy use 2 : to respect greatly : VENERATE Text: to make holy through prayers or ritual So...likely to cause or capable of causing death...and...to make holy through prayers or ritual. My interpretation...we already knew this...Harry "causes death" to each piece of Voldemort's soul by casting spells (through ritual) therefore making the world less evil (more holy). Harry destroys Horcruxes. Harry destroys Voldemort. Stuff happens. Characters die. The End.

Yes! Let the theories begin. I think “Deathly Hallows” will have at least a double meaning, maybe triple or more. The first meaning is concrete, like the other titles. Simple and straight forward – the horcruxes are hallowed objects (set apart, respected, special) and they are deadly (like Slytherin’s ring, they will probably have terrible curses prepared for any who dare to tamper). The second meaning could have something to do with the veil between this world and the next. (The afterlife? The other realm?) The worlds are said to be closest on Halloween. The idea of a veil makes me think of Sirius – could he come back after all? Or could he offer help from beyond?

Well im having trouble remembering exactly, where was harry's house? was it Godric's Hollow? That may have something to do wit Deathly Hallows. True they arent exactly alike but they sorta are arent they? Also is the fact that the muggle village Godrics Hollow has Gryffendors first name in it a coincidence or do you think it holds some meaning?

I saw an ad for an Arthurian Tarot card deck… <http://www.learntarot.com/hwdesc.htm> “This deck is based on the legend of King Arthur and his Round Table. The major arcana cards show key figures, objects and places in the Arthurian story. The Magician is Merlin (left); the High Priestess is the Lady of the Lake. The four suits stand for different aspects of life symbolized by the four hallows on the aces - stone, spear, grail and sword. A hallow is a "holy empowering object of the inner quest." Cards 2-9 show landscapes in Britain that relate to each hallow. The weather reflects the associated season. The ten shows the castle where the four royal figures of that hallow live - king, queen, knight and maiden…”

Well.. i dont know what that means but all i could think about was: holy empowering object- Horcruxes (they are sorta empowering, right?) King, Queen, Knight, and Maiden.- The four founders 2 male and 2 female. perhaps they should create a harry potter tarot card.
