In the Sixth book "Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince" we find Malfoy in a very big problem...better say *Mortal Peril* when Voldemort incensed by Lucius Malfoy's, Dracos father's mistakes, orders Draco to complete the task of providing a passage to the Death eaters into Hogwarts.

Malfoy though, considering his tiny brain, succeeds in making a passage between 'Borgin and Burkes' and 'Hogwarts' through Vanishing Cabinets though facing many problems which many times reduced him to the verge of tears...

Should this be called Malfoy's lack of intelligence or the faliure of the room of requirement that ....Couldn't Malfoy simply demand "A Passage to allow the death eaters into Hogwarts"...so that the room could easily provide a passage ...rather than doing the tiring job of mending the Vanishing Cabinets ? Couldn't the room fulfill his wish by simply providing a passage he wished for ?

If not...The Room Of Requirement should be called "The Room Of Selective Acquirement"...Think of all the possibilities this room could offer if it could really grant what the person asked...

Quote:
I want to be in a room where I find Dumbledore alive", said Harry....The room opened and Harry with a shock of joy could see Dumbledore beaming at him..."Hello Harry, nice to meet you again", said Dumbledore, "Though couldn't you wish for a Dumbledore with a fuller hand ?...[/b]
If you think its about materials only...I dont think so ...Magic does not always consider materials...after all its *MAGIC*...

Cool concept.
But that opens more possibilities than the Time Turner.
Too much for me.

Yeah isnt it...And there are some possibilities with the time turner too...Why not save sirius when he fell into the veil...by just going back into time ? And there would be Sirius faster than this...

I answered that one. Long story.
See the "Shacklebolt" thread in Fan Fiction.
But first you'll need the "Time Traveler" theory.
I'll go and look for it now.

There. I've brought them to the top with a *** post.
Astronomy Tower,
Albus, the Time Traveler,
and Shacklebolt

The part about "The Veil" is in "Shacklebolt," a few posts down.

I'd guess that the reason why the room of requirement didn't become a passage way for the Death eaters to get into the school by was because it is, effectively, just a room. A room that is subject to what the person wanting it requires it for and which will become what the person wants. It is unplottable, but as far as becoming a vortex - such as the gate between Kings Cross and platform 9 3/4 - it isn't that magical in its nature.
