Great Seventh Book News

I have just found out that JK Rowling is pretty much done with the seventh book, and now its just going through the editorial process! And her publisher has said that she wants to try to get the seventh book out on 7/7/07

JK Rowling has also said that at least two main characters DEFINITELY die in the seventh book, and she hasn't said for sure if Harry will die, but she does say that someone she had intended to die, doesn't

I think that perhaps Pettigrew is the one getting the reprieve.
As for who dies. . .I think Ron, definitely. Maybe Petunia? Hagrid? Not sure.
But I think there are going to be more than 2 main characters that die, because the news articles all say that Rowling is going to kill off two more characters than she intended. . . .and I'm pretty sure she was already planning on killing a couple of people..

I think it's cool that she's pretty much done with the 7th book. I don't think that releasing the book so close to the release of the 5th movie is such a good idea, though.
I almost wish that she'd wait until the 6th movie was out before publishing the 7th book, lol.

lol, Yeah, though I think it would be kinda cool if they released it on 7/7/7, it kind of counteracts the whole 6/6/6 thing and helps the Harry Potter seven thing

Voldemort seemed to think so. It's iimplied in book 6 that he created 7 Horcruxes. Then there's other places where the number seven is important, such as the Jewish and Christian faiths.

Actually, I don't think Voldemort created 7 horcruxes, just split his soul into 7 parts. . .so there are 6 horcruxes and part of his soul still resides in himself.

Anyway, I think it's awesome that the book is being released on 7/7/07, I just wish that the movie release wasn't so close to it. However, maybe there's a reason that the movie is coming out 7-13-07... wasn't 713 an important number in the books, also? Oh yes, 713 was the vault that the Sorcerer's Stone was in... interesting ..

Or -for a far-fetched idea which I seem to have plenty of- one of the characters who she had already "killed off" makes their reprieve and "comes back to life". Because in the interview she said that even she was surprised that the character lived, but it just kind of ended up that way

True, it could be Harry. In the interview, she wouldn't say whether Harry died or not
