Does anyone wonder if there's anything significant about Dudley's group in book 5 (chapter 1) bullying a 10-year-old by the name of Mark Evans... when his mother and Harry's mother's maiden name is also Evans? I don't think it's co-incidence.

Rowling has said that this is a coincidence.

I've been thinking about this too, and while reading posts on a different site, I discovered an interesting theory:

The notes on Snape's potions book were written by Lily.

I think it makes sense.
Harry thought the handwriting looked like a girl's, Lily was extremely gifted at potions, and she liked (well, didn't hate, anyway) Snape.

Why would she have written in his book? Or, why would Snape claim the book was his if it was Lily's?

I absolutely love your new avatar by the way. Did you make it yourself?

I think Snape made it pretty obvious that it was his book, not Lily's.
She wrote in his book to help him. . .maybe they were partnered up at some point?

And no, I didn't make the av myself, but I sure do love it

The partnering up theory is kind of interesting. It's interesting to note that in book 5 Petunia refers to "that awful boy" telling Lily about Azkaban and Harry (and most likely the readers) assume she's referring to James. But that's only implicit. I read somewhere someone theorizing that the awful boy was Snape that Petunia overheard 'cause she and Dumbledore were the only ones who stuck up for him. Dunno whether to believe it or not though.

If i remember correctly it was Hermione that thought the handritting looked like a girls not harry. Harry was convinced that Prince ment a male. But that is irrevelent. I do see what you mean by the partnering of snape and lily... but would lily actually write such awful spells? Perhaps it was the book made by Snapes mother... but the partnering theory is cool especially if you think about Snape as full blooded and with lily together they mak the Half Blood and then just add prince!

Maybe it was Hermione, I don't remember. . .And I think you're right about the spells. Lily wouldn't have created such spells [that we know of, anyway].
But I'm not getting what you're saying about Snape being pureblood. . .he was half-blooded. . .

But if he were full blooded that was what i ment. Which what if he was lying? I wonder how Voldemort thinks of halfblooded people surely he dosent feel as strongly about them as he does full blooded people... but then again im probably wrong seeing that Voldemort himself is Half Blooded.
