he was as surprised as everyone else...he trusted snape...and even begged snape at the end...

That would make a lame story line, but it's better
than the idea that he would plan his own death.

Dumbledore would never PLAN his own death but he might prepare for it so people think he is dead but is really still alive.

I know that Dumbledore is dead, but it does make sence that he would plan for his own death. I have actually posted about this somewhere already, but I will try to shorten it this time. I think that Dumbledore could somehow feel that he was going to die soon, but didn't know when. I think that was why he told Harry about the Horcruxes when he did.

I've been mad at Dumbledore for the way he has handled Trelawney,
using her talent and information without her knowledge,
letting her feel like a failure and unappreciated...
I'm sure he told himself that it was for her own safety,
but what a waste of a life.

She has probably told him more than we know.
Now that I think about it, we do know that she told him something.
Was it that moment in the hall near the room of requirement?

Still, it doesn't add up. All the other clues say that he is alive.

I must admit that Dumbledore should have told Professor Trelawney that she had made some real visions and that she shouldn't give up hope.

Dumbledore is not dead. do you not understand when j.k.r. gives you clues? dumbledore say not 2 minutes earlier that the order can protect you like no one else. that their protection is better than death? she is telling you right out that they can fake deaths to protect you

Ok, I know you all think it would be stupid for Dumbledore to plan his own death but what if he had no option. Snape had to make the Unbreakable with Narcissa to prove his loyalty to Voldemort. He then would have told Dumbledore about this (Snape is a good guy fo sho in my opinion). Dumbledore told him he must keep this Vow and should therefore kill him if it became nessecary. That is what him and Snape were arguing about. Dumbledore wasn't afraid to die and he knows that he must teach Harry all he can before he does (Horcruxes). He also knows that Snape can help Harry when the time comes. Snape is in an ideal position to protect Harry without Voldemort knowing. I feel Dumbledore sacrificed himself to save Harry, Snape and the wizarding world. Just a theory. Also Dumbledore would NEVER plead for his life in my opinion. I think he was pleading for Snape to kill him as planned and the look of hatred was because Snape hated himself for killing the one person who truly cared for him.

Sorry to burst your safety-of-the-written-word bubble, but you can't take everything in the books at face value. After reading the books you should know that. Things are not always what they seem...not even if Jo said so in an interview...she chooses her words carefully for a good reason. She is vague on many things, she avoids some topics entirely, and she choses words that can be interpreted several ways on purpose to keep us guessing until the end.

Plus, if you are so close-minded, why do you even come on to these message boards?
