Something in Diagon Alley or Hogsmeade?
Maybe a statue or a gargoyle?
Something in or on Gringot's?
I don't remember anyone mentioning whether Voldemort likes gold.

Maybe Tom of the Leaky Cauldron is old enough to remember something about Riddle.
Or maybe Fortesque knew something.

Yeah! Maybe Fortesque did know something, or had something, and that's why they carried him off! Or, it could just have been that the Death Eaters wanted to make him into some sort of example for everyone.

I don't think it ever said that Voldemort liked gold, and even if he did, I doubt he would put part of his soul into a piece.

Hogsmead or Diagon Alley could be a possibility. But to know, Harry'd have to be able to find someone who knew Tom and where he liked to go.....what about the cave that Sirius stayed in? In a way, it was in the third too, he had to have had somewhere to stay. Though they've already done the cave thing, I doubt she would do it again.....

There's always the Shrieking Shack

Why?

I didn't mean in a coin. I was thinking of a statue or something. I don't remember one.

The Shreiking Shack is only accessable from inside the Hogwarts grounds,
and it didn't exist until they built it for Lupin.
And Sirius' cave was in the 4th book.

Na. It's not working.
I'm back to Riddle's Trophy.

I still don't understand why the first one was not destroyed back in Godrick's hollow.
Voldemort should have died when his own curse backfired.

And what was that about Voldemort planning to use baby Harry's death
to make his final horcrux? Was that in the book, or just gossip?

I think it was some of Dumby's guessing.
was godrics hollow metioned in book 3?
If so maybe it is something at Lily & James house...well whats left of it, come to think about Avada isn't a destructrive curse?

I think it was Hagrid who said he pulled Harry from the "ruined house."
But I can't see Voldemort leaving anything important there anyway.

Yeah, and Riddle's trophy is looking better and better as a horcrux. It would make sense since it's a "trophy" from him being able to kill someone and still get away with it. Though he did want to get credit for it

...something on mugglenet about a CRUX being mentioned in each book...

Voldemort's soul is probably in seven pieces, and there are seven books. What if one piece were hidden in each book?
Book 1 = Voldemort is introduced (the last part of his soul in him)
Book 2 = Riddle's diary
Book 3 = ?
Book 4 = Voldemort's snake, Nagini
Book 5 = The locket in Sirius's house
Book 6 = Marvolo's ring
Book 7 = ?

If we take this as true .......What is mentioned in the 3rd book that could be a CRUX? [/b]
In the third book, "Bob" found Harry with a shard.
Hold the tomatos, please.

We never did answer that one.
Why was the house destroyed?
The Riddle's house was fine.

Just because we've been given the horcruxes in any certain order, doesn't mean that they have any order. Book 3 seems to break many patterns that might have been developing.
Try it this way...
Start with 7 pieces of Voldemort's soul.
Take away one when he killed James and Lily.
Take another when Harry ruined the diary.
One more was Marvolo's ring.
Take another, once Harry is certain the locket really is destroyed, or destroys it, himself.
And - and - take away one more, because LV had to dip into his horcrux fund to have survived the night he went after the Potters.
That leaves two to find. Nagini is a prime suspect, and so is the trophy.

*note* I picked up on this idea, from Psyduck, I think, and this makes absolute sense, because if we say, oppositely, that Voldemort had survived for ten plus years as only pure soul (part of a soul), then his piece from the diary and the piece from the ring must be out there, too. I don't think those pieces exists anymore.
Thoughts?

Maybe something happened when the curse rebounded onto Voldemort. Big fireworks display.

When Harry return sto Godrics hollow, what will he find. Maybe a new house is built there, new family living there? Does he know his house was destroyed? I think Hagrid said something to him.
