Ok, I'll bite. You've been working this in to every post you make, so I can't not comment on it at this point. Dumbledore didn't put his mark on anyone. In the beginning, it could have been either Neville or Harry. It was the fact that Voldemort believed he prophecy and chose to attack Harry that makes Harry the "chosen one." If Voldemort had attacked Neville, it would be him (if anyone) and if he hadn't attacked either one, it would not have been either. It was Voldemort's belief in the prophecy and his decision to act on this belief that caused the whole chain of events of the story.

Maybe Hedwig will save Harry from something. LOL!
We do need something to post and think about than whether Harry is going to die or not and who R.A.B. is.

I read somewhere that there was a Saint Hedwig in history who was the patron saint of orphans and we know that Jo Rowling's good at taking names from myth and history and inserting them in her books for a deeper meaning to their character. Hedwig's looking after Harry thus far makes sense therefore - I mean she flies to France in book 3 to get Hermione's present for Harry. So, possibily Hedwig will have a big part to play in book 7.

Harfang Longbottom
On Rowling's Black Family Tree, a Harfang Longbottom married Callidora Black, daughter of Arturus Black. No dates for Harfang, but Callidora was born in 1915 and appears to still be alive (no death date) (BFT).
Name origen: In French, an 'Harfang des neiges' is a snowy owl.

maybe far fetched but it made me think.

Like i say everywhere, nothing is in any of the books for nothing. Everything in those books has a reason to be there. And i wouldn't be suprised if this turns out to be true.

Have there been any hints in the books up til now though? I mean, I don't even recall Neville mentioning a Harfang Longbottom at all. If he had then that might be a dead give away. He tells us about one other relative - sorry too lazy to go look up the name - besides his grandma -and we don't know what side that relative is on. As for the Longbottoms being related to the Blacks... doesn't Sirius say in book 5 that all of the wizarding families are related? If pure bloods are only going to marry other pure bloods then they don't have many options really.

That is true. He did say that. There is a big chance that the Longbottoms are realted to the Black's. The Malfoy's are, and so are the Weasley's. It's like the English part of the International Family.

I wonder whether Krum's family are pureblood. Fleur can't be, cause she has Veela in her.

And has anyone else picked up that Krum comes from Bulgaria, and Veela come from Bulgaria. Fluer has Veela in her, so she is technically part Bulgarian.

Wasn't it Fleur's grandma who was Veela? - one of her hairs was in Fleur's wand.
