I was rereading the 5th Harry Potter book a few seconds ago and while I was reading about them cleaning up Grimauld Place, i was concentrating hard on the book looking for something that I might of missed the last time i read it and on page 116 in the U.S. version it says

'There was a musical box that emitted a faintly sinister, tinkling tune when wound, and they all found themselves becoming curiously weak and sleepy until Ginny had the sense to slam the lid shut; also a heavy locket that none of them could open.'

Now, Regulus Black used to live in that house and he used to be a death eater. Voldemort seemed to trust Malfoy enough to care for his diary, even though Malfoy had no idea what it really was. Sirius says that Regulus was either killed by Voldemort or more than likely one of his death eaters because Sirius didn't think that Regulus was that important to Voldemort and that once Regulus found out what being a death eater was all about he tried to get out. But, did Sirius hear this from a reliable source?

(under the title of this post i meant could Regulus Black have gotten the locket from the cave?sry)

I'm not following.
We have discussed Regulus getting the locket from the cave with the help of Kreacher, who undoubtedly still has the locket.
Are you saying that Regulus or Voldemort got help from Slughorn in creating the potion?
Who wanted what set?

I think he may have taken Kreacher with him.

Well do u guys remeber how mudugus (the person who steals and is also a member onf the order) well he was caught in hogsmaid with a bunch of the blacks potetions (also Harrys) But what if regulus kept the locket their thinking that sirious would get it and destroy it because we know thats what regulas wanted to do with it. But instead of sirius getting it he died and mudugus found it. Have you guys ever thought of that lol.

That would be bad for Harry.
Because one of Voldemorts cronies could have bought it and Harry would have a time to get it back.

I never thought about it. It makes sense that Kreacher would be the one Regulus would take with him. Kreacher would HAVE to obey and keep making him drink.

What if the person who wrote the note wasn't R.A.B.? What if the person just put those initials to throw Voldemort off or something?
Just a random thought...

That might explain why Kreacher had gone mad, apart from being in the Black House for years by himself, the potion might have had a long-term effect. There wasn't enuf time after Dumbledore drank it to know what the long-term effect would be.
