I am scared to read the last book when it comes out wonder if jk kills someone I like, and it upsets me. Is it better not to know how it ends? Once I have read it there is no going back.

I've thought the exact same thing. I'm hoping jk will write some kind of "Harry Potter all grown up, auror" kind of book. like an after series. its not likely but a comforting thought to those who dont want it to be over.
