Socks are mentioned an awful lot in Harry Potter.

Socks are just a very funny subject, so of course JK would bring it up! Okay, Dobby has a reason to be obssessed with socks, and Dumbledore wanting socks is just a joke!

It may have been just a symbol, but it was not a joke.
I'm old enough to get it. I can relate.
To have wants and needs that are so simple, and so misunderstood.

I did read it, and i know you won't believe this, but I actually do understand even though I'm not that old.

I agree with Ginny Weasley Rox. I think you are over analyzing. Like that obsession someone had on here over the colour of peoples eyes in the book. It doesn't mean anything. It's just where Jo's describing someone and feels she should say something more about this caracter, maybe the eyes are the first thing people notice about the caracter. Don't get obsessed with socks. Please!!!!
