Ms Norris has gotta be a half kneazle. Her smarts and her communication skills are so like Crookshank's (who def. is a half kneazle- Jo said) that I think, Mrs Norris has to be one too.

Kneazles are magical creatures known for their intelligence and for being highly perceptive animals. They look like large cats. Mrs Figg breeds half cats/ Kneazles.

There's been a few discussion threads on kneazles on this site if you want to find them through your search engine or just google 'kneazle' for Jo's explanation of them.

That's my first theory.

Second theory:
Mrs Norris is demon manifested from the malice and spite of Filch. Kinda like a poltigeist is created by teenage frustration, demon cats can 'come' to annoying little squibs.

Wow, I never thought of that! I mean, sure, I always wondered what was up with Ms. Norris, but I never really had any real guesses. Hmm, I can see her being a kneazle (a very skinny one). lol, I want to see Crookshanks meet Ms. Norris, that would be the best scene EVER!

Ever since Jo said Crookshanks was half-kneazle i've suspected Mrs Norris is too. It's kinda obvious. No ordinary cat can be that clever.
PS Who said Figgy bred kneazles?

What? I don't think that Figgy breeds kneazles, I think that they're just normal cats.

But Ms. Norris has got to be something else! I mean, she's a little skinny and pretty to be half kneazle, you know what I mean?

Hi ,I was just looking threw J,R site she said Mrs Norris is just a very smart and very mean cat. There's nothing special about her.
