Hello.
Not online yesterday as it was Australia Day. I had to lie in my brother's pool, eat BBQed prawns and drink beer. They would have deported me otherwise. We're VERY strong on cliches, opps, sorry I meant 'very strong on patrotisim', in the land of Oz.

Not so sure that Dumby is a 'happy man'. A happy person would have to be completly content and unafraid I reckon. I don't think that sounds like Dumbledore at all. I think Erised, to Dumby, might have shown everyone in the world living happy and contented lives, respectful of each other; lambs and lions frollicking in green meadows etc. At least it would have shown a world free of Voldemort. Harry as a safe, happy adult. It might have shown Dumbledore and Tom Riddle having a hug.

HBP Australian Ed. has only Harry and Dumby on the cover. They both have ring of flames coming from their wands. The back cover has an irridescent green coming from an old bird-bath and from alittle rowboat- the cave obviously.

My HBP reads the same as ginevra's.
Chapter 27 'The Lightening Stuck Tower'... all the same as you've posted psyduck- excect the page numbers which, as I've said before is weird- but those lines:
"He can not kill youi f you are already dead"
'Nobody would be surprised that you had died...'
are not there!

Mine's an Australian print but an English publication and typset so I'd reckon iit has to be the same as the British edition.

So, look at us hey!! Little detectives EXTRORDINARE!!! What HAVE we uncovered??? Is this THE lynchpin?? THE clue that will launch us into all that will come and explain ALL that has come before?? I'm not just talking HP here people! I'm talking THE big questions about 'what is life?' and 'should I get my 2001 tax return in or won't they notice?'... THE really BIG stuff.
Could be a typo.
Did some ditor somewhere put the line in or take these lines out in which case, why??? they are strange lines when seen in this light. Very dark and ominous. Do they imply that Dumby and the Order have made someone disappear and look as if they were dead before?????

ginevra: 23 FEBURARY??!! that's terrible! I'd be taking that up with Amnesty or United Nations if I were you.

I think we're into something... we found the big secret of the US government: they are passing secret information through the HP books, some information that was covered for the rest of the world... until now !!!

Ja, ja, I'm just joking, but I think it's possible that the Order of the Phoenix did that before; who can it be?

I think we've got the same publicaton Buffy, my cover is like yours. And about February 23rd... I went to the book shop about a hundred times to reserve the book, and they keep on telling me that I have to wait until the beggining of February. Why does it take so long? I read the english version in just ONE month, why does it take SEVEN months to translate it? I could have done it in less time for them !!!!
Hey, editors, here I am !!!!! please give me the money and I'll do it for you !!!!!
This is torture...

I think our lives might be in danger!! A black van has been parked outside my house since we decrypted this information
We have to assume that these words were written by Jo (no editor would be arrogant enough to add such lines I reckon). So, why were they taken out of the British edition?? Do they give away too much about things to come? Were they 'left in' to give the Americans a heads up/a warning about things that have happened and will?? Inwhich case, why them *sulky brat lower lip pout* ??
hmmmm

ginevra: I'd pay you to translate anything anytime.
I can't believe you have to wait this long. Bloody bureacracy! I wonder if Jo knows about this injustice. Then again, maybe this means you'll get a visit from our Jo herself for the book launch. I think she owes you at least that. i think I'll go and tell the scary men in trench coats and large sunglasses in the black van outside that that is what Jo shoul do!! I'll go and do that right now!

I'm sure it means exactly that.
They probably do it all the time.
And I'm sure that they've hidden Dumbledore, too.

Hmmm, I see what you're saying Pysduck, and it makes sense! It's entirely possible if you think about it....but Snape would have to hide Dumbledore somewhere where Draco woiuldn't see him, so where do you suppose it is?

I'm not following.
The only hiding they would need to do is back in time.
Replacing the sleeping Dumbledore at the foot of the tower would have
happened before and during the events at the top of the tower.
He would already be there, on the ground, when the original starts to fall.

Do you remmember the third book? I'm sure you does, so my question is "why can't they use that "clock" (sorry I read it on spanish, so I don't know the original name) they gave Hermione to go back in time to change everything that happens?" If they knew Voldemort was at the cementery, why don't they go back in time and catch him?
If it's for a good reason, why doesn't Voldy use it? he wouldn't mind to do it if it that can affect someone else but save him...
I where Harry I would like to go back in time and see my parents alive, even if can't tell them anything, even if I can't be seen.
*** Imagine this end for the book: Harry goes back in time, change what happened to his parents, kill Voldemort, comes back to real time and see that all his bad memories dissapears, he has now grew up as a happy boy... nothing has ever happened.
Nobody ever imagined that when reading the third book???????? Really ????????
