I still don't get why Snape was trying to save Harry in book 1, if that what he was ...

That depends on whether you believe he's a good guy or a bad guy.
He could have been just to trying to keep Dumbledore's trust.
That doesn't work for me.

To me, allowing someone to be killed when you can easily prevent it is close to murder.
Much as he loves to hate Harry, he's not a murderer.

I think Snape is bad. Unless he was under the Imperius curse but i doubt it. He was acting too Snape-like. And i don't think he tried to save Harry because of what James did either. I reckon he was just trying to gain Dumbledore's trust, make him look like he was a good guy...

Ooo Ooo -- Buffy and Ginevra --

I think JKR has tipped her hand again!!!!!

A new rumor says that "R.A.B" in the Spanish version is "R.A.N."
A major give-away if it's true.

It's in a new thread, "In Spain."
Just waiting for confirmation.

One of the main reasons for a difference in what's written in the British version and the American version will be different publishers (I work in book retail, so I see it a bit). The British one is printed by Bloomsbury and as an Aussie, that's the one we got whereas the American one is published by Scholastic. Alterations are made by the publishers sometimes, such as in book 5, where it talks in the British version about skirting boards in Number 12 Grimmauld Place [chapter 4], the American publishers reworded it to baseboard for the U.S. audience. Beats me though, why there'd be a whole extra paragraph in the U.S.'s book 6 though.

Some people think it may be something that Rowling wanted to take out because it was too much of a hint, but accidentally got left in the US version.
