My word, practically every heartbreaking moment in the book was mentioned in the poll.Even Harry at one point(at least that's what it appeard to me)felt sorry for Voldemort. But I gotta go with DD's death, man,my eyes teared up when I read that part. Then I was depressed for several days. The worst part is that over here where I live, knowbody can read english so I could not discuss DD's death with my friends who read the H P series because they are still waiting for the spanish version to come out.Lucky for me I found this place and it helped to calm the angst.I feel much better now.* * But not that much*

Same thing happened to me! Where I live, every one is waiting for the spanish version, and I can't stand the fact that everybody talks about dumbledore without knowing that he's going to die, ... I cried my way through the last two chapters... it was heartbreaking really. Luckily, my best friend also read it in English, and I was able to discuss it with her... otherwise I think I'd have blown up or something!

Lol, yeh, that's right, the spanish versions just kill the HP books! I mean, it's not that they're not translated correctly, the thing is that most of the jokes or things like that just can't be translated... so it doesn't really make sense when you read it.

The saddest part for me was when Dumbledore died, of course, I started crying at the end of chapter 26 when Dumbledore says ' "I am not worried, Harry," said Dumbledore, his voice a little stronger despite the freezing water. "I am with you." ' and i didn't stop until after the funeral when Harry is at the lake.

As I don't believe Dumbledore is dead, I have to say the saddest moment is Harry saying he wasn't returning to school. . .

Why didn't it work?

I can see how puns and stuff like that would be hard to translate.
Like the Flur/flem thing.
But most of the humorous parts in HP aren't like that.

Can you give an example, or is it too hard to explain?

By far, when Dumbledore dies...never in my life have I sat on the couch, neglected housework and children's baths, and cried like a baby at a book. There were so very many touching and heart-wrenching moments in HBP that I have to say, even after reading DH, HBP was my favorite.
