I believe that Snape may have half-heartedly been with other women, and that they may have been of purer blood than Lily.
I think the 'worthier of him' is Voldemorts judgement (not Snapes).
I think that knowing Lily had died, Snape wouldn't have remained celibate in respect of her memory. But I think that no one would have measured up to Lily.
