I thought it was a hoot when Harry levitated Ron out of his sleep! But I don't think the nvbl's are just for fun. Anyone notice how Snape gets on Harry for not performing these well early in the book, then again antagonizes him about them as he is fleeing the castle grounds? Is this just Snape being Snape -- or could it be significant?

yes that was just snape being snape but harry needs to learn it in order to fite voldy i wonder in voldy can do it we have never seen him do it i mean why would he want ppl to hear wat hes gonna do to them y not leave it as a suprise a bad on but a suprise none the less

Yes, I agree that Harry will need the nvbl spells to defeat Voldy, but Snape's taunting of Harry is clearly done to really encourage Harry to work on this skill. This -- along with the fact that Snape does NOT try to use Crucio on Harry at the end -- is good evidence that Snape is still on the side of the Order, and not a double agent.

I do have a feeling that Snape is doing it to push Harry - how better to push him than to have Snape throw it in his face that he can't do it well in the way that Snape can do so well. It leads me to believe that Snape still may be good. But, the down fall for thinking that is that I wonder if Snape won't ever kill Harry because Lord Voldemort wants to do it himself and any who cross him will die probably with a lot of pain.
