This whole bit about the nonverbal spells makes me wonder if Dumbledore had tried to find a way to defend the AK spell - I really don't want to believe that the professor could be really dead. I really just want to read more into it until the last book comes out and tells the rest of the story.

i agree. but i feel that draco partially deserved it he was up to no good but also at that time he had not done ne thing hurtful to harry. but he was threatening harry and if someone was threatening me with magic i would fight back wouldnt you???

We could all be right about nvbl spells. I mean so far the books say Avada Kedrava is unblockable... before book 6 i am sure that no one thought that new spells could just be made like that. We dont know if Dumbldore was trying to create a spell that could block Avada Kedrava but that would not be good if he did.

well, i really have 2 say this cuz it's really making me mad...

SNAPE IS A DIRTY, LYING MURDERER AND ANY1 WHO SUPPORTS WAT HE DID IS WRONG ABOUT HIM!!!! HE KNEW WAT HE WAS GETTING INTO AND WAT HE WAS DOING. HE MEANT 2 KILL DUMBLDORE ALL ALONG!! HE IS (AS HERMIONE WOULD SAY) A VILE LITTLE COCKROACH! HE IS ALSO A BACKSTABBING LITTLE TRAITOR WHO DOESN'T DESERVE 2 LIVE!!!!!

Of course Voldemort can do nonverbals, it's not about whether or not you can do it, but about being able to concentrate. Something Harry has always had trouble with. Voldemort wouldn't use them, because there is no thrill in killing by suprise. He likes to taunt his prey, and let them know they are going to die. So what better way to add to his victims fear than to let them hear what they are about to suffer. That may actually be a twist that get him in the end. Harry has, in part, been able to defend himself against Voldemort because Voldemort like to tell his whole plan.
