I'm new on this site, but I was wondering if those that went back to reread the family tree info in Order of the Pheonix noticed that it the items that they were throwing out a locket was mentioned.* Specifically, "a heavy locket that none of them could open" (pg116), seems to me that Mundungus may have hocked a pretty important item.* Anyone agree?

that is so true. i agree 100% like madam bones said though, assuming the RAB is regulus

Um....very interesting ...i never thought of it .......Maybe thats why Voldy killed Regulus. He found out about the Horcruxs , found the locket(w/kreacher??), Voldy found out about it and killed him. But that meens that Dumbledore had the letter a long time since Regulus died a while back . the letter did say something like youll be reading this long after im dead. Is it possible that it was pay to the dark lord, maybe voldy did something to him.....?

well it is possible that the locket is in number 12 but that doesnt mean that mundungus took it it coukd still be there we never know maybe that is the importance of harry inheriting the house and everything in it but how long would the locket have had to have been there for regulus to have taken ut we dont know wen the original was taken it may have been the day b4 haryy and dumby were there whos to say

see, we aren't quite sure if that was the actual locket. all it says is 'a heavy locket none of them could open'. it says nothing about ornate with a large S on it, it says nothing about it being silver. it's still too mcuh of a coincidence, though, in my opinion. and who said mundungus stole it? it mentions nothing about mundungus stealing it! besides, wouldn't it be cursed? unless RAB uncursed it and kept it for safe keeping... it's possible. regulus died when harry was born, it says so when harry is looking at the family tree. and in the note, it says, 'and when you meet your match' which means that regulus knew about harry. which probably means snape told him in their little death eater chats. snape makes me so mad!!! anyway, i'm pretty sure the locket was the horcrux, and if dumbledore's right in voldemort not feeling when a horcrux is destroyed, that might be it. all these clues, all these questions... it's driving me crazy!!!!

The line, "when you meet your match" had nothing to do with Harry.
Regulus knew nothing.
He was just contributing what he could to the effort to take down Voldemort.

Regulus was expecting a visit from Voldemort or one of his little friends because old Voldy doesn't like to see people defect. You can run, but you can't hide.
