but i dont agree with the blacks brother thing only becuse:
didnt dunledore say after harry and himself had retrived that it was clear to him (dumbldore) that you needed at least 2 people to take it from of the basin because one had to drink it and the one had to make sure the other one kept drink until the potion was gone.
and how did who ever it was refill the basin with potion??????
this looks like powerful wizard(S) to me !!!

i think that dumbledore being a charmed corpse (inferi) has slim to none chance of being true (SORRY) but for a start dumbledore could talk and walk to hes own accord i just dont see that hapening!

and im still in to minds about the polly juice potion i can see how it could be a very effective way of faking dumbledores death but why would he want to?
and surely, although i doubt it, dumbly would tell harry wat they were going to plan i mean i think hes erned the right to know wats going on.
and i think that dumbledore would not trust petagrew with harry and his school alone
plus i think that was deffinely dumbledore who took harry to that cave , like dumbly would ever trust anyone besides himself with somthing as important

I'm all for the Snape Parade; I think Dumbledore told him to do it because he knew it was a last resort and would put Snape on Tom's I-like-you-so-much-more-now list. What else could Dumbledore do with Harry? He knows he can't defeat Tom himself so why not give the one who *can* a great deal of incentive.
Of course, it probably wasn't planned at all. Spur of the moment and all that.
And Regulus is so R.A.B.; there are magical ways around everything- if he was determined enough he could have found a way. And the basin probably refills itself after a certain amount of time, easy enough for a wizarding object.

Wow, creepy. I was thinking that Harry could be a Horcrux when I was reading the book, but I forgot all about it. That would be really cool, especially because of the complications. Dumbledore said that to really kill Voldemort Harry would have to destroy all his horcruxes, so what does he do? Kill Voldemort and then himself? Dumbledore also said that putting a horcrux in a living thing is dangerous, perhaps Harry could find a way to get rid of it without killing himself. This theory would further explain Harry's weird connection with Voldemort.
The note about how you need two wizards to get the horcrux certainly puts a damper on things, but I suppose it's possible that there was another wizard with Regulus, but it seems doubtful (unless he brought Kreacher :P ). The note did seem like only one person took the locket, though.
What if whoever took the locket put the potion there, or replaced it with a potion (the one Dumbledore took). We don't know that anything there was strictly done by Voldemort, anyone could have put any one of those barriers there (possibly trying to delay Voldemort's discovery that someone else knows about the horcrux) I'm not saying that Voldemort didn't put extensive protection around the horcrux, of course he did, but obviously someone got through and if they were able to get to the locket it seems unlikely that they would have known exactly what potion was in there and brought a spare bottle with them to refill the basin. Who knows what the original potion was? By the way, how disturbing was that potion? Creepy effects on Dumbledore.

i thought tat as well Peeves as for dumbledore being inferi its immpossiable scince he was BLEEDING if you noticed when harry used that spell he used on draco it didnt do crud to the inferi 2 why would peter go as D.D. go around and HELP harry when he was so ALONE with him he could have finished him off easily butt well as cut and drink that potion FOR harry cause peteer is such a darned cowerd and then stun harry to keep him safe ...any way like ive said it HAS to be dumbledore dracos instructions where to kill dumbledore snape made the unbreakbale vow to protect draco and finish the job if draco couldnt
