The Death In The 6th Book

i was wondering whether or not any one came up with the same theory as i did about why jk chose to kill off dumbledor?

here is mine

i believe she had to kill him bcuz with him around the profecy(sp?) would never have come true. dumbledor would neve have let harry fite voldy he loved harry too much and would have done anything to protect him. this would have stood in the way of harry killing voldy or voldy killing harry. any other theorys?

oh and one more thing anyone think they know who RAB is i am gonna spend the next week rereading all 6 books to figure out if anyone mentioned fits these innitials

It's obvious isn't it? Regulus Black! He was mentioned twice. Once when Dumbledore was talking about who 12 Grimmauld place should go to and once in reference to Karkaroff surviving a few weeks after abandoning Voldy. Supposedly Regulus only survived a few days - long enough to take it.

I don't think that Dumbledore would have been able to kill Voldy due to the prophecy - although i had been pretty certain that Dumbledore was going to die during the final battle by helping Harry in the big fight.

I reckon Dumbledore died because he had fulfilled his purpose. Harry is now mature enough to continue on his own. Dumbledore has taught him all he needs to know. I think that Dumbledore's 'lessons' were actually his way of seeing if Harry was able to work out things without jumping to conclusions. (As he has always had an issue with that in the past.)

I'm TOTALLY with you da bill, I reckon R.A.B. is Regulus Black too. I went looking to see if his middle name was mentioned on the family tree but alas, no.

K. So you're all gonna think I'm really dumb but I'm wondering if it was really Dumby who died.
I think his insistence that Harry gets Slughorn's memory was a little full-on/ very unDumbdledorey.
I also reckon that the real Dumby would not have taken Harry on a dangerous mission with him.
Additionally, what was with the begging before he was killed???? That's not MY Dumbledore!!

What you think about the idea that they'd kidnapped Dumbledore and it was really Pettigrew taking Polijuice Potion?? Thus the bung hand and the begging and the ease with which Snape killed him. ????????

well i would agree with u buffy but if it had been pettigrew taking the poly juice by the time of the funeral he would have changed back cuz it would have been more then an hour and all that time harry spent with him he didnt always have something to drink and harry spent more then an hour at a time with him i do agree with you though about him acting weird he was being pretty undumby like but who knows i just dont think she would kill him to bring him back

im not sure about regulus black being RAB didnt sirius once say that he was dim and not very talented im not sure id have to look it up but he is dead how could it be him i know RAB will turn up in 7 that is obvious enough but im just not sure if it will be regulus idk you may be right though kinda sad that dumb died for nothing draco never would have been able to take his wand if he werent weaked by the potion and asked for snape i cant believe he defended him all through the book and then snape just killed him no mercy it was crazy

I think you are correct in your theory about Dumble's death. I actually belive that he was pleading with Snape to kill him not to save himself. I think Snape really is good (I belive in Dumble) and when he made the unbreakable vow that Dumble agreed to Snape killing him (did anyone else noticed that Snape saved Harry during his flight from Hogwarts?) . He knows this is the only way for Harry to continue and kill Voldy. This also just stregthens Snape cover for the Order. Just as Dumble ordered Harry to keep making him drink the liquid, I think Dumble also ordered Snape to kill him in front of the Death Eaters. He sacrificed himself for the Order and for Harry and for the good of all wizards.

But this is just my theory...

I think that he made a concious decision to dye and yet I am wondering myself if that truely was Dumbledore. There is evidence pointing to the fact that he is and the fact that he isn't.

Thinking of it now however he seems like Dumbledore. When he was talking to Malfoy, that was his style to divert him and try to save him. Yet the pleading and everything really made me wonder, the overall coolness and wisdom that Dumbledore has been gifted with. Why would he plea? Maybe because he had thought Snape was on his side all along? If this was a plot of deception and sacracfice then I just dont understand it! If snape wanted to prove that he was loyal to Riddle and yet keep his composure he could have created a diversion or a non verbal spell to save albus.

Or was it truly an imposter? What about his hand, we do not know entirely why he substained that injury. It could have been a ploy to cover up a different appearance. Also why was he constently dissapearing? To just look for the items? All the evidence was in the pensive! There are somethings not adding up here.

Than you have the event in that Dumbledore brought Harry on that mission, did he know he would die? Was this Harry's final lesson so that once he would die harry could know what his tasks were to be?

Why did he stop Harry? Surely harry could have taken Malfoy! Why did dumbledore want to die? I know it wasnt because he loved harry so much, knowing that he did love harry.. he loved the school even more. There were many children who needed Dumbledore. And Dumbledore has inadvertantly allowed harry attack voldemort before, he knows that Harry will continue too untill he dies.

what is going on? I have been driven from my safe non chat world in search of answers and consolement! Dumbledore can't be dead right? what about Snape, and the Phoenix that flies at dumbledore's funeral? What's going on?

dumby said his hand was like that coz he survived a killing curse, but if it was pettigrew then it could have been a cover to disguise his silver hand, remember wormtail was with snape at the beginning so if snape is good, although i doubt it, he could have helped with the polyjuice stuff?Dumby was such a great wizard though, when he was taking harry on the mission he said that as long as he was seen to be in the pub people would think he was there, could he maybe conjure a version of himself, if snae was also in on this then it might of worked, surely dumby was a better legilimens than snape?surely he would have known if snape had been bad?and why kill dumbeldore now, snapes had so many oppurtunities over the years or was it only pos coz dumby was weak?
