I never thought of two faces in one of those things. I see it now. ;o)(o;

You are not listening. I didn’t expect any particular ending. I just expected her to tie up all the loose ends (she did not) and give us a story that made sense (it did not).

I doubt it. But at this moment, the answer to that question is unknowable. I don’t go around blabbing about it, especially to people who haven’t read it.

For that reason, it was the easiest to write. She didn't just make it up as she went along. She had been setting it all up for ten years. All she had to do was tap that first domino, sit back and watch it all fall into place.

Her writing style and the complexity of her plots grew up over the years and left that wimpy little story in the dust. What she should have done is realize that her original plot was crap. Changing the plot would have made the job a little more difficult, but it would have been worth it.

The older I get, the less I want to watch TV. I didn't get around to watching "Friends" until it was in re-runs, and I've never seen the Sopranos at all.
The last series that really got to me was "Deep Space Nine" -- they had a great ending. "Cheers" had a great ending. "Mash" had a great ending. I can't think of any others right now, but I'm sure others have managed. It IS possible.

But that’s just the trouble. She ruined the whole journey. Your football team is a perfect example -- “the fact that we never lost…”

Imagine, at the end of that last game, you’ve started celebrating, thinking you’ve had a perfect season, and some ref comes along and changes the past – it turns out that you lost half of those games on some technicality.

As it stands, you can look back and see a perfect season.
I look back at the HP series and see a lot of un-kept promises.

I didn’t mind the tent stuff. A lot of good things happened. And how could anyone complain about the underground radio?

In any good story, you set up the premise – however fantastic it may be – and then you stick to the premise. You don’t change the rules after you’ve established them. JKR broke all of her own rules. In little stuff and big stuff, it was self-contradictory, contrived and lame.

ok imagine millions of people expect all different things in the book she has to do something that will pleaswe the majority and what loose emnds didnt she tie up ok Dh was a great book in my opinion but the series as a whole and especially books 1-6 are what was the journey and the my football team didnt lose on some technicality so ur idea dosnt work

ok i imagine that when you(psyduck mainly) were anticipating DH you didnt want i8t to end and wanted to go on forever (thats how i fealt) and thatnow you are just bitter because the series ended or didnt end the way you wanted or how you expected

THE JOURNEY WAS THE FIRST SIX BOOKS AND SOME OF THE SEVENTH BUT THATS WHAT KEEPS YOU INTERESTED NOTHING EXCITING EVER COMES FROM ENDING ITS THE JOURNEY THAT MAKES SOMETHING EXCITING AND WORTH WHILE

Ah, it's good to see that even while I was on my forced hiatus, HPC remains steady.
Ranty hedwig: check!
Quirky Alo: check!
Historical-observant-arguements-you-can't-disagree-with-without-sounding-heartless-Gingo: check!
Sarcastically-logical Psy: check!
TIRADE Becca: check! (Yes! )
Oh, and, of course: Punctuation-lacking-repetitive-ekin: check. :/
hedwig-playing-the-"i'm-twelve-and-a-half"-card: check! XD

Anyway: Dumbledore I'm neutral on, but really, I'm not sure this one is worth making a club over. DA I can understand, even as comic relief, but GOI- well, 1)needs a better name, and 2)shows that Feathers is really, really, really bored.
I don't know if I would really say he's still alive, after DH, BUT I do agree that him actually being alive had a lot of possibilities that weren't used to their real potential.
I think that an ending can be difficult to write- but that does not justify completely botching it up. If the "journey" is done so well, than at LEAST have a neutrally done ending. It's doesn't have to take an encore, but running of the stage and tripping over itself is not the way to go either, ESPECIALLY after a good performance.
-Supporting Becca, still, on the count that DH was poorly written.

Whaddya mean the "I'm twelve-and-a-half"-card? It's true! And it was also Gingo who brought it into the discussion, not me!
I admit I was bored. But you've been gone, of course I was bored!

Roflmao hedwig, have some pre-teen dignity. Don't let others dig you out of losing arguements by playing the "Nah, go easy, she's a little kid" card. *Snickers* I remember being twelve (and a half- you'll see how ridiculous the half part gets in a year or so) as it was only two years ago. :P And we really weren't that innocent, nor naive. I could definitely hold my own, at least, and than some. XD

I'm glad I was able to provide amusement hedwig.

That last bit sounded like Robo-Hagrid.
AND IT WAS GINGO! NO ONE calls me a little kid! Did you not just read what I said about AP classes?
I'm starting to get annoyed by the "a half" part mysef, actually. But I did JOIN on my half birthday.

XD
Uh huh, blame everything on Gingo. That's what the condescending little voice that they repress in the back of their mind says though. I saw what you said about AP, but I'm exactly the wrong person to garner sympathy from, as I'm in the exact same situation- except it's my mom more than my dad for me. :/Less language/arts and more math/science for me though, probably. (A word of advice- don't cram for a SATII a week before you have to take it, you're going to get a score that's going to force you to re-take it. -.-)

The "and half" parts is seemingly expected, but also completely pointless. The new fad becomes to count down to your birthday about a month before actual day. (Only 20 more days!) Roflmao.

You see, this is why I really, really, really want a time-turner.
