Dumbledore's dead? Really? Wow! How come no one's bothered to tell me that?

A question though. And a few words before that. It's not Dumbledore's death that bothers me really. Twas in harmony with the trend that JKR started of killing off Harry's guardians one by one. And the plot she led up to sort of needed it. Dumbledore was the one person that Voldy feared, so he kinda had to go to make way for Voldy to announce himself and for Harry to face him alone at a stage like Hogwarts. Well, anyway, I kinda hoped that he'd be alive and thus my siggy says what it says, and it's been saying that for so long that I didn't bother changing it, and don't think I will. My question is actually concerning Snape.

If I'm not terribly mistaken, the last thing that Snape had to ensure for Dumbledore was that Voldy and Harry met face to face in a fight. If Snape had been successful in bringing Harry out to meet Voldemort, and let's say that Harry got the better of his opponent, could Snape have been able to convince anyone that he had been acting under Dumbledore's wishes? Would he have tried to convince anyone of that? Would he have made his memories available then for others to see?

Been out of the general discussion forums for a while. The Snape thing just pricked me, so I asked. If the question has been asked somewhere already, and answered, point me in the right direction please..

I initially thought that GOI stood for Group Of Infants.. sorry.. just came in to see if I was right..I was wrong.. the thread's about a really old dead guy..

it was Snapes memories in the pensieve that convinced Harry.
Perhaps the same memories would have convinced anyone else.

That whole theory never worked. Even before JKR made such a mess of it.
See above, post # 19 (mine).

He did. And Harry believed it.
He named a kid after Snape and, when we left him, Harry intended to clear Snape's name.

I try.

What does

mean?
With these new-fangled emotions and whatnot...
I can usually figure something out if I look at it long enough.
But this one's got me.

Nice talking to you again Psyduck.

If you look closely you'll see two smiling faces winking. Just consider the 'o's as noses.

Hedwig- Yeah I did call DH rubbish. Coz most (I repeat most, not all) of it is rubbish! Compared to the rest of the books, it's not even worthy to be called a HP novel! I was convinced it was a joke not even written by J.K until I got past all the tent crap! Then we got back to the unrealistic rubbish again!
And what I was tryna say is, DD dying did not have to happen in order for Harry to believe him dead! But like I said, I accept I'm in the minority in that way of thinking! (Where's Teddy gone to back me and Psy up?)

Dh was very well written considering all the pressure that was on JKR, imagine you have millions of fans expecting the novel to end how they would like and you have to please the masses the majority of people who have read DH liked it i think that Dh was the hardwest book to write because she had to end the series and if you have ever seen any of the most popular tv shows of all time(simpsons, friends, sopranos) all had crappy endings(except the simpsons only their like special episodes like 400th and such are bad cus the simpsons are still going) ive been saying that the best part of something is not the ending but the journey in anything my football team had a perfect season the last game wasnt excitng we blew the other team out but the fact that we never loss on our JOURNEY was what made it exciting, SO REMEMBER ITS THE JOURNEY NOIT THE END THAT IS EXCITING

Why couldn't DH be as good as the other 6? As I've said elsewhere, it didn't have to end as I wanted it to. It just had to be believable. And everyone I know, thinks it was one of the worst written HP books! Why couldn't she write DH, in the style she wrote the others? If it ain't broke and all that.....

I thought the book was believable. If you can believe in wizards and magic, then you can believe in this.

the more I think about the tent stuff - the more I like it.
if you are given a special mission in the middle of a war - you ARE isolated. you DO lose sense of reality and attachment to everyone else and everything else. the day to day - CAN be mundane.

the underground radio - perfect.

The moments that work in your favour, the moments that don't.
Losing valued allies. Discovering unlikely allies. Discovering who you can and cannot trust.

Becca - you are right. this book is not like the others. This book is about open warfare and getting through. It is not about surviving school, and battling the bullies and dealing with teachers.

This book is about kids fighting an adults war. In WWI so many kids went to war and died. Many lied about their age - just so that they could fight - and do their bit for the greater cause. Even the deaths of Lupin, Tonks, Colin Creevey and Fred.... sad - but - in war - not everyone comes home.

They shall not grow old,
As we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them,
Nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun,
And in the morning,
We will remember them.
