Right, I have said from the start that Dumbledore is dead, but as we saw in DH, he will remain immortal in memory, spirit and name. If that makes any sense, lol.

The old theory suggests that we have only two possiblities:

Dumbledore is alive and Harry gets lots of help.

The fact is, we have two other possibilities.

JKR chose the worst: Dumbledore dead and Harry gets lots of help.
(Dumbledore had long chats with Hermione, sent Snape on errands and delivering messages, and had a major session with Harry in King's Cross. If you insist on that old theory, it defeats the whole purpose of Dumbledore's death.)

Becca (and I) were hoping for the best: Dumbledore alive but hidden and Harry gets minimal help.

I was also hoping for a plot that made sense. The main plot of the Deathly Hallows made no sense. It was contrived, self-contradictory, lame; it just ruined the whole series.
That is exactly what I was trying (and failing ) to explain. Just because DD was alive DOES NOT mean he had to be up in Harry's face all day long protecting him from the world and his wife.
DD has always taken a backseat and tried to let Harry learn things for himself. That is what I was hoping he was going to be doing in DH. He DID NOT - I repeat DID NOT - have to die in order to let Harry get on with destroying the Horcruxes!!!

Yeah , yeah , Dumbledore died , and Harry succeeded in beating Voldemort , and most of all , he got a normal and happy life .

So what's the point of arguing whether Dumbledore was dead or why he would die ?

But he was OLD! No one can live forever, not even Dumbledore. You can't just keep replacing people you've lost, just like you can't hold on to anyone forever. Except maybe Nicolas Flamel and his wife. But even they died to. No one can live forever, and personally, I don't think anyone WANTS to live forever.
This is something you seem to be missing: He was OLD!!! You should consider him lucky. A lot of people die quite young.

yes dumbledore did need to die ffor his plan to work and he was going to die anywyas so why not give voldemort a false sense of security in thinking dumbledore was killed by snpe because snape wanted to kill him and whats the point in dumbledore living he succeeded in his goal of stoping voldemort and he was quite old so he would have died soon anyways

Yes he did have to die at some point but not then. My point is, plain and simple, why kill him off if it's gonna make a rubbish plot??? Which it was. I think I'm gonna have to accept I'm one of the very few who thinks this way tho. (Psy, I know you're with me )

But that's just the trouble. The journey stunk even more than the epilogue, if that's possible. Not her best work.
