Is Sirius Dead?

my best freind who is also a harry fanatic does not want to believe sirius is dead. but is he really dead? she thinks not. she was telling me about what luna told harry about the veil and how sirius isn't really dead. but if he is alive i would literally jump for joy. but anyway i was thinking of him coming back in half blood prince that would be sooooooo good.

Actually in Book 5, Harry wanted to follow Sirius into the room with the veil. Lupin held him back and said, "There's nothing you can do Harry....He's gone." Page 806. That sounds pretty final to me. But this is a magic world after all, so maybe Sirius can find a way to communicate with Harry. Maybe Sirius will become a portrait, like his mother, at 12 Grimauld Place, and he will be able to talk to Harry when he visits the Black Mansion. Maybe Sirius left the house to Harry in his will. Sirius might be gone, but he might still be able to help Harry.

[color=green] I think he will talk with Harry once more, even if he's really gone. But I also think he might be alive, only he's stuck somewhere. He wasn't dead when he went throught the Veil after all.

JKR talked about the mirror Sirius gave Harry:
"The mirror might not have helped as much as you think, but on the other hand, it will help more than you think. You'll have to read the final books to understand that."

If his mirror, or something like it, plays a 'helpful' role in the up and coming books, what's to say that Sirius won't be in communicado once again????

Since so many people asked JKR when Harry's parents would return before book 4, she killed off more characters to represent the finality of death. Therefore, you would assume that, like the Potters, Sirius himself will not come back.

Absolutely. I don't think Sirius will come back. It's really curious though that Jo keeps dodging the questions about Sirius. It's annoying. It reminds me of when my daughter and I were watching the Lion King and when the father died, to stop my howling sobs, she said "It's alright because he comes back". I acted all mature and motherly, stopped the video and gave her the 'death is final, you just have to let things go when they die' rave. Then what happened .... the bloody lion came back at the end!!! It was some kinda ghost but still, TOTALLY ruined my rave! If Jo brings Sirius back in any shape form or translucent colour, it would be rather annoying I reckon. Why does Jo keep going on about the mirror though?

Hmm... the mirror wouldnt work because he smashed it, remember? so there would only be one left. maybe, like, with the mirror, he would find a note or something with the mirror. Or maybe a picture, or.... someting.

Yeah I dunno... maybe Jo didn't mean Sirius's mirror at all. Maybe she meant the Erised... ?? (Have you read the 'Mirror of Erised' topic?)
