@m@nd@: Great points! I really like your thoughts about how Snape 's embittedness has become a thing of pride. It makes so much sense now I've read you say it. Just like Voldemort, Snape 'chooses' to wallow; to bask in his self pity and glory in how he thinks he's risen above the pain of his youth. He / they don't GEt that they /their A actions, are bouncing off their resentment and pain rather than breaking it down. NICE!! Is Snape beyond redemption? Could he live without pain and self-righteousness? Does he really want to? Therefore, does Snape want to be redemned? Is there nothing 'likable'/'lovable' about Snape? Dumb seems to think there is. Interesting stuff... ?????? Why Snape is never gonna be the DADA's teacher...??? Maybe 'cause he's SO good at potions. His interest/ passion is in the dark arts but his talent lies in potions. He might be horriable, but all the students do seem to learn from him. Even Neville (wthout Snape around) did OK in the OWLs for potions. Do you think that Dumb wants to keep Snape away from DADAs for a reason? What? do you think It'd be too much of a ... what?... temptation... for Sanpe??? suprime witch: 'Deatheaterness' of Snape... hmm?? Maybe. As I said above, maybe Dumb thinks the DADA job would be too much of a temptation for Snape. But a temptation to do what?? Does just studying the dark arts 'draw you in' like some say that reading HP is gonna make satan worshippers of us??

buffy:i think snape thrives on self pity and hatred i think its what keeps him going?and people who are like that are beyond the point if getting help.and you know what i am actually thinking that is why Dumb doesn't want to give him the position as DADA teacher. maybe for the that job you need to be pure of heart.like lupin although he was a werewolf he was kind understanding and maybe he misjudged qurirell and lockhart.although they did not have hate in them they were just weird.lockhart was just full of himself and quirell just got taken up by the wrong person. maybe snpe has to much hate for alot of things not only for harry but maybe even life itself.so maybe wants him to actually lose the hurt and pain and hatred and actually start beleiving in others and trusting people and realize people are there for him even Dumb and that he is not alone in the world. you know that are people out there who think HP is like satan stuff.is waas watching this show on tv and i saw that i got so angry.i think they don't allow children to have an imagination and even adults to let their"inner child" out.i think anything that they think wrong everybody else should think so and that is unnfair.people who have beliefs should be able to express them.where i live people who does not understand my religion dicriminate and that is what they do they don't understand HP and how much people enjoy it so they have to be prejudice

@m@nd@: You are the voice of reason echoing out from the Carribean. YAY You!!!! I totally agree. Anybody who uses the word 'hate' and tell people that they can't read a childrens' book, hasn't listened and understood others and hasn't read ithe book! I remember that, because of the idea that 'HP idolises witches' rubbish, we teachers had to send notes home telling parents what fairy tales we would be talking about with their 5 y/os. Evidently, anything with a witch in it, was out. This was in a State school! I find this ridiculous because 'witches' are a great discussion opener: "who were witches? Why were they descriminated against? What type of people are descriminated against in our society? Can you see comparisons between these targets of descrimination? etc etc" I don't tink that Jo is satanic or is indoctrinating us into 'the dark side' by telling a story. Just as I don't believe that C.S.Lewis was recruiting for Satan's Army just because he had witches in Narnia!!! If we didn't like the idea of people out there with abilities to save us from extraordinary circumstances, we wouldn't have a medical profession ...or family and friends. If people didn't believe that there was unpredictable, awesome potential in every moment, we'd become dangerously cynical .. and NEVER have kids. You're not evil, you are our hope and our dreams Jo!! Keep writing!! Snape: I agree that he loves that enormous chip on his shoulder but why?? What would he do/ what would he look like, without that mill-stone around his neck??? He's been SUCH a big character and he knew Lily, Jameset al, that I gotta think that there's some big end in store for the Snapester. Either a 'bang' of death or a 'wimper' of reconciliation with our Harry...??????? You bring up a REALLy good point, if Dumb got it wrong with Quirelle and Lockhart, why not Snape??? Sorry to be a rumour racker (it is what I do best after all!!) but Ron's predictions have come true at an uncanny rate. WHat's to say that he's wrong about Snape being a bad guy--- NO! not now!!! Maybe, in the future/ soon ??? That's what a 'prediction' means after all!....???? What do you reckon??? Snape gets fed-up by having to trust people he doesn''t trust and work with people he'd rather see dead and lets something 'slip'... maybe through his occulency mask...???? Is there a future for Snape??? No chip on his shoulder? No debt to pay back?? Pays back the debt by sacrificing himself???? What future for Snape??? He and Harry set up 'happy family' together?? Snape dies??? DADA teacher needs a pure heart...???? Did/does Lupin have a 'pure heart'??

buffy:i don't know about c.s lewis but have you read anne rice-interveiw with the vampire, the vampire lestat......you know why didn't make a big deal out of that when they made the movie of it. vampires are just as "satanic" as witches and wizardes.those people have no kind of imginations what so ever and never grew up wondering abou these stuff i bet their kids read these kinds of books. snape:ron's predications?maybe he will get fed up of having to trust people he dislikes.and maybe he will die.i wonder whats in store for our potions teacher.but what if snape does not turn evil but somehow can feed voldemort information without knowing.i mean is he still connected to voldemort? but i am not lingering on the idea of him and harry being harry maybe he will help harry and call that george or fred.but i am stuck on that pride theory you know what i mean?i just can't see them being happy together.does snape have anyone special in his life like a loved one?and good question WHAT FUTURE FOR SNAPE???????????

C.S. Lewis was a Reverand who wrote amazing 'childrens'' stories about friendship and faith and love and trust (lots of Christian symbolism if you wanna look for it) and had witches, goblins, magical kingdoms etc etc. No-one's ever accused him of satanism and currupting the young!! Brillant books. I love them! (new Narnia movie coming out in Oz soon, I noticed) No I've never read any Ann Rice though I've seen the movies of course. I should read her though. She's meant to be really good. I haven't read any Mary Shelley either. 'Frankenstein's Monster' is meant to be amazing! (Evidently she wrote it to win a bet with Byron). Gotta get with the classics. Maybe after HP6!? I really don't see a future for Snape. With all that bitterness and hatred, he's gotta die surely! Jo would be doing him a favour really. He'll never be content and happy. What do you think about the reason we've been given for the animosity between James/ Harry and Snape??? Seems pretty weak to me. The whole, 'James stopped Siverus going down the hole under the Whomping Willow and thus saved Siverus' life' thing, just aint enough for me. There's gotta be more ghoing on

thats true i don't really buy that falling into a hole story.there has got to be more i mean would someone hold a grudge about something that small so long. there probably is something else but jk hasn't revealed it yet.
