i think that there is a chance that serious may come back but only because serious was shot with a stuning spell befoe he fell though the veil!
if jkr had no intentions of bringing him back then why not just kill him?
i deffenety think that there will be alot in the next book about the veil as harry will need to know wat has happened to serious before he can move on. after all harry has lost everyone thats come close to being a parent figure in hes life.
but im also cerious about the voices harry and luna herd coming from the veil and what did luna mean when she said that they werent dead?
i dont think we've herd the last of serious, luna or the veil!!!!!!!

but it was a hand mirror that Harry smashed. Maybe it wasn't the "real" mirror... like it was a different mirror. Or maybe Sirius would have found a way to charm the Mirror of Erised, and it will show Harry how to get to him, or something like that.

harry fan_100%: Great point about the stunning spell but where did you get it from? According to my OotP, it doesn't specify what spell Sirius was hit with, just a "... jet of red light." Even after Sirius was hit with the final spell, "...his eyes widened in shock" which doesn't seem to indicate a stunning spell. What do you think?

I think Jo has killed him. This doesn't explain why she keeps evading the questions about Sirius. Maybe Harry will communicate with Sirius from the Great Beyond The Veil!!??? Maybe through the Mirror of Erised... ???

Rita: You don't have to charm the Mirror of Erised to see and speak to dead people. Harry saw and spoke to his rele.'s in the 1st book, maybe he'll be able to see Sirius the same way? They can't seak though. Which brings us back to that intriguing debate about photos, paintings ands mirrors and how much of the subjects' character and cirrcumstance is reflected in the 'reflection'/ 'image'?

OK, so this is gonna make me Ms Unpopular 2005 but what's all the fuss about Sirius dying? I know Jo hasn't helped with her cryptic comments about magicals' communicating from the dead and stuff but ... ???? Sirius was damaged goods; He came from a family who he had been at war with snice his teens, a magical community that he couldn't be a part of since his twenties and he spent his thirties mostly as a dog so he wouldn't go TOTALLY insane!! I mean, the poor bloke really didn't have THAT much going for him! He didn't like were he was/ fondest memories were of some imagined glory days of youth that everyone else had already outgrown out of; even long before Lily and James were killed. He strikes me as a really sad character.
What do you think???

I mean even though it is a magic world, you do die. And if everyone keeps springing back to life, where's the danger or fear of dying?

Oh..and Buffy, you are right, he is a sad story. But he seemed so happy after he met Harry. I think that really turned his world upside down, having his godson really like him. </span>

hi weezem you cried everytime you read the book?but i think he will come back he is a big part of the story.
hey buffy why do you think sirus is damaged goods?he might help harry defeat voldemort.and plus he is the closes living personnto harry i don't think jk will leave harry alone in the world although he has ron and herms he needs family and sirius is like family you could say he was james brother makinh him harry's uncle.and sirius was close to harry and harry really loved him and was finally get to know his parents through sirius.he would have become closer to his parents. and its really sad he died i mean he is practically alone in the world.shed some tears people :(

@m@nd@: Harry has got a family :The Order of the Pheonix. Harry says that he thinks of these people as his family now at the end of ootP. You're right of course, he still yearns for a real family but I think Jo leaves Harry alone constantly. I kinda think that's the point of HP; the chosen one must always walk alone.

I agree with you that Sirius is dead and I don't think he's coming back. I really liked the way that you explain that if Jo did bring him back, death will lose it's barb.. what's the point?! You put it better... i agree though.

Sirius and Harry made each other happy for a moment but they were both such moody buggers that I found them pretty depressing. The whole of OotP was depressing really -

hey buffy yeah that is so true they were always moody.well they ddi have so much things going on and harry ws angry with his freinds for not keeping him up to date on what was going on and sirius was frustrated with order and harry being in trouble and stuff and they didnot really hae time to spend time with each other to tto get know each other and thats what makes me sad that harry finally gets someone close to him and his parents and doe not get to know him.he doe not get the answers to the questions that may be ringing in his head.and he is probably sad beause he sees ron and his family and herms and hers but he is left wit the drusley's but how much love cam they express.giving arry uncle vernon's socks oh please.he needs someone and although he considers them family he woul wan someone always there for someone and i think sirius would have made a grea gurdianfor him he would understand harry be there for him and support him.but i still can't let go to sirius i realy have hopes for him coming back but if he doesnot i will not be disappointed i will understand.but i think lupin will become close to harry because of the parents thing again.lupin is really sweet when he held back harry form going through the veil i was oooohhhhhhh he is sooooo sweet.harry has very special people around him and he is very lucky even though he has to put up with people like snape and the dursleys.i think they realy like harry but because of their hatred they would not admitt it
