I had another thought inspired by Slytherin4Me, what if Neville does kill Voldemort... Then the prophecy would be right because Neville was born at the end of the seventh month. Though Harry has been marked as the one with the power to vanguish the Dark Lord, Neville is the one that will actually do it. The prophecy was actually referring to both of them, one that will be marked and one that will kill Voldemort... ?? I know, I know I'm reaching a lot, but it's nice to stretch.

Naaaa! I've just had another look at the prophecy and it's pretty clear that the same one that is "marked" is the same one witht he power to "vanquish" is the same one who "can't live while the other lives"... therefore the prophecy can't be shared by Nev and Har. Still, worth a try.

I also, on further thought, find it difficult to believe that Voldemort would have sent the uninformed Lestranges to the Longbottoms. If Voldemort had any REAL belief that Neville was the 'One', he'd have gone himself.

What have the Longbottoms got to do with this? Theye weren't secret keepers for the Potters, what did Voldy need to find out from them? Why aren't the Longbottoms dead?

back to the topic i think that harry is gonna face voldermort alone because it was in the proffercy that harry and only harry can kill voldy and even if somone trys to sacrafice them selfs i dont think it will do much good. as the harry vs voldy fight has been a long time coming!!!!!!!!!

harry fan_100%: As you rightfully say "Back to the topic": I agree that Harry will face Voldemort alone in the end and I think he will kill him. As we have discussed on other threads, however, I don't believe that this will be easy for Harry. The fact that Jo calls the act 'murder' (she says that Harry must be a victim or a murderer) not only points to the deep ethical delema that Harry will face but also the profound ethical comment that Jo is making: 'Killing ANYONE isn't easy or heroic, EVER!!!'

Again, as we have discussed on other threads, I think that Harry's ability to kill/ murder, is complicated not only by ethical issues but also by the fact that we don't know if he can kill Voldemort. (Go to 'Voldemort Has Harry's Blood' and 'Can Harry Kill Voldemort' threads for discussions on this) We don't know what relationship Harry and Voldemort have because of the scar - it implies so much and has hinted to even more. We also don't know if Voldemort can kill Harry. (See other threads' discussions please because it's really annoying to have to do the same discussion from the beginning again every time - even though we always seem to end up in a different place!! Weird!)

I'll agree with one of the Weaslys dying.. there are so many anyways! haha.. just a little joke. I dont think the person will be REALLY close to Harry.. but who knows?! And Ron, Hermione, and Dumbledore can't die! No way! I wont allow it.. If one of them does, it will be the last book, and It will be Dumbledore and Voldemort. Those two will get in a duel.. and Dumbledore will die, and then Harry will step up and defeat voldemort.. yeah.. i dont know, maybe I should stop thinking..hehe

weezam: Dumb. kills Voldemort....??? Maybe. The prophecy says that it has to be Harry though, 'cause he's the one who's 'amrked' as equal and thereore the 'one' to kill Voldy.

Here's a thing. When Moody (/false Moody) says, in the DADA's class that harry was the ONLY one to ever survive the AVada Kevadra curse, he was only half right. Harry DID survive Voldemort's Kevarda curse but the curse rebounded and therefore, Voldemort ALSO survived the curse.

Can they die? Can they kill eah other? How???
