hpluver4ever: You're quite right, it doesn't actually matter at all what happens to Harry after Hogwarts. Even so... Potterdog: I can't resist an argument and just because Harry hasn't actually thought about becoming Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher, doesn't mean that he won't. In OotP, we've got Harry teaching classes that are essentially Defence Against the Dark Arts. We've got Harry actually enjoying them, therefore, enjoying teaching. Alright, so he might not have made the conscious decision to go into teaching yet - perhaps he likes the romaticised idealism of saving people that being an auror suggests (in fact, we know he likes that, just look at the end of OotP, with Harry's whole 'saving people thing') - but don't you think that, by the time he gets to the end of the final book, he might just about have had enough of putting himself in dangerous situations, risking his life and those of other's around him - not to mention killing people - to actually consider being an auror a viable employment option?

I think that Harry might do something like become an auror, and then retire and become a DADA teacher. It would be too odd for him to become a DADA when he's just out of school. Nobody would pay attention, and he would only be a few months older than the students.

Well if he did become a teacher then that would mean that he won, and how could anyone resist being taught by the one who lived????? Honestly if you had a chance to be taught how to fight by the guy wh beat up (fictional Statement coming)Bruce lee then I doubt you would care if how old he was. I know would not care. Hmmmmm I wonder if JK is building to that, I mean come on....... all running bits come to an end sooner or latter, so i imagine that the end of book 7 we will have a permanent DADA teacher, and it could be Harry or if he dies then it could be someone we have not thought of at all, like Neville or Ron hmmmmm yea that is a good thought
