| (He) looked rather like an old lion. There were streaks of grey in his mane of tawny hair and his bushy eyebrows; he had keen yellowish eyes behind a pair of wire-rimmed spectacles and a certain rangy, loping grace even though he walked with a slight limp. that is the description of the hbp have fun mottleing over it for a couple of days that does not look anything like hagrid or dumbledore. |
| |||
| Hi Headless, Wizardboy & Luna: I agree that it will be a new person we have never met but we have heard of. I think the HBP is the traveler from a distant land that brought Aragog to Hogwarts in his pocket. He gave the spider egg to Hagrid to care for. I should not have said that............. |
| |||
| I do aswell as many other people think that it is Dumbledore. Because if u look @ it this way, why is you-know-who, is afraid of Dumbledore? And besides Harry do u think is as powerful because, Both Harry and You-Know-Who share there powers. So I think that it is Dumbledore |

| Don't think it was Hagrid's Dad that gave him Aragog in an egg (did you know that some people in Aus. who use bizzare 'baby talk' to children (can you imagine?? Why don't they keep it in the bedroom where it belongs!!!) call eggs 'gogies' ...!!??? Is that only Aus or does this profoundly disturbing event happen in other countries? Is this where JKR got the name AraGOG from? I'm sure that it was a "traveller" who gave Hagrid his beloved Aragog in-vitro/ in-ovitro. .?? How do we know that this HBP is either friend or foe of our Harry? |
| |||
| Buffy: Outstanding! That means that Aragog's kids are Aragogies. I love it. No. Baby talk is an individual preference in the States. You Aussies agree on a nation-wide baby language. That's a bit of all right. I enjoy any and all books about Australia but I'm bound to tell you that your films are so wild and wacky that even I couldn't have thought them up. I watch every one I can find. They all remind me of being in the desert with a hangover. Did you see the movie, Muriel's Wedding? I didn't want to see it at first because I thought it was a chick flick but then I found out it takes place in Australia. That movie was actually civilized. I really enjoy your Aussie brand of off-beat surrealistic comedy. It's like modern art. |

| Who doesn't love Muriel's Wedding!? But that wasn't surreal was it? Looked pretty realistic to me. 'Spotwood' is a very little known Aus film that I like (look for the young Rus Crowe). A girl I went to high school with just directed her first big film. It got rave reviews and some award at Carnes. It's called 'Somersault' and is set, fleetingly, in Canberra, where she and I grew up so I really liked it and 'cause it was v. beautiful. It was a bit on the arty side, therefore didn't do too well in the box-office here. 'Australian Art' Ewwww *spit* I've told you, us white Aus. don't have any culture and were d.a.m.n proud of it! Do we have a particular humour.. we don't explain a joke after we've told it like some of the 'comedy' shows your great and enormous chinned country export to us... then again neither do the Am. I've met. The US produced Jos Wheadon, Mike Moore, PDog and Zonko who are probably doing more for US foreign affairs than CIA.. opps, sorry, I meant CNN, could ever do. Have you seen the movie 'Napolean Dynamite'? Fantastic! Now that movie proves that Am. have a sense of humour (I became a little worried after 'White Chicks' and 'Nutty Professor'). Welcome to the post-post modern comedy America!! (If we keep become post-post-post modern, surely that means we are 'middle aged'.) We don't know much about Dumbledore but I'd never describe him the way JKR's described the HBP (see quote posted by headless hunt above). Therefore I don't think the HBP is Dumbledore. My money's on a new character. |
