Re: Snape, Good Or Bad? I think Snape is a good guy. I mean, I've read the 7th book (and I don't want to spoil it for anyone that hasn't...) but I seriously think he's a good guy. Sure, he seems kind of evil, but there was that part in the first book & movie, where Harry was looking at Snape, who was talking to Quirell, whose back was to Harry (and we can safely assume that Voldemort was already attached to the back of Quirell's head) and Harry thought Snape caused the pain in Harry's scar, when really it was Voldemort/Quirell who caused it.
And then, in the second book & movie, Snape actually STUCK UP for Harry, Ron, and Hermione. Obviously they were wondering what drug he was on, but he actually stuck up for Harry.
Book & movie three: In the book, he made up a really bad lie, yes... but in the movie, notice how he protected the Trio when Lupin went werewolf.
Book & movie four: We start to notice that maybe Snape really is Voldemort's man. The scene about the Dark Mark, for instance. Crap really starts to hit the fan from there.
Fifth book & movie: Evil much? Snape called Lily a Mudblood, in the chapter titled "Snape's Worst Memory". But what part made that his worst memory? Hmmm... maybe the part where he was being tormented... or the part where he called Lily a Mudblood?
Sixth book & movie: Snape the Bad Guy! But not really. He made the Unbreakable Vow with Narcissa Malfoy... but why? For her reason? Or his own? Towards the end, in Dumbledore's death scene, he seems to be pleading with Snape. "Severus... please..." and all that jazz. And then, BAM, Snape kills him. Take a closer look at Dumbledore's crippled hand though... that's a key part in book 7.
And this is where I shut up.
That's my take on the books/movies... So yes, overall, I do think Snape's a good guy.
(WOWWW, that was really long!)
But that's my opinion. :] |
