I didn't look it up, but I assumed Godrics Hollow
was the place where Voldemort attacked the Potters.
I don't remember which book would have it.

I don't believe this worked. I'm copying this partial quote from elsewhere. Anyway...

Quote:
...Do you know what's really interesting is that Jo answered a quick "no comment" when asked if there was anyone else at Godric's Hollow that night.... My vote's on Snape cowering in the bushes as he realises what he's done. Maybe this isn't the place to discuss this. i'll try to find somewhere else to post this tidbit.[/b]
Here! I've found a place for you.
Now, what was that?

Yep ta mate I got it.

K. So I've brought over part of the discussion from the 'Snape/lily and Voldemort' (i think it was called... sorry, shockin' memory) that i'm assured should be woven in here:

SNAPE 'N LILY:
So this is just another thought to patch onto the above post, Jo said that "Snape was loved once, unlike Voldy.." [paraphrasing obviously]. Could this have been Lily?? (I think it's his mum but...)

Jo also says that there was someone else at Godric's Hollow on the night of the Potters' murders. (Well. OK. What she actually said was "no comment" when asked if there was anyone else there. Samething!) I think this was Snape. He'd given the info about the prophecy, hinted to Potters' because he was so jealous of James but, because he still loved Lily, begged Voldy to let her live. Snape was there in the shadows watching to see if 'his' Lily was alright. He watches in blind, awful terror as the whole thing goes horribly wrong. Shocked at what's happened, he gets back to Dumby and confesses his sins. The horror of that night means that he cann't stand being called a coward because he just 'lurked' by and watch it all happen... What you think???

Who else was at Godric's Hollow that night??
Why do you think it was that person?
Why do you think they were there?

Do you think there is a link between Godric Griffindor/Godric Hollows?
What ?

Do you think that Snape is a guy only a mother would love or is there some romantic intrigue?
With whom?

Why else do you think Snape reacts so forceably to being called a coward?
(This is a leading question..opps)

What do you think of my Snape and Lily theory?
Give the strengths and weaknesses of the theory in full sentence answers.... opps again. Got carried away. Did I mention I was a teacher..??

If you think 'no' to the theory then why did Voldy ask Lily to stand aside?? - actually don't answer that question on this thread or the powers that be will cut you. Just try to answer the questions above with all your amazing insight and well educated guesses keeping in mind the strange 'stand aside you silly girl' line. OK? I know I'm being difficult. I just cannot believe that this is a side issue... I REALLY want to know what you think???

Jo said that "Snape was loved once, unlike Voldimort..."
I'm sure that was just about his mother. I can't see him as Lily's type.

Do you think that Snape is a guy only a mother could love? Yes.

Why does Snape reacts so forceably to being called a coward?
A lot of people do. It's a guy thing.

What do you think of my Snape and Lily theory? It doesn't work for me.
He might think she's nice, but after calling her a "mudblood," I can't imagine anything that would resemble a mutual relationship. She was married to James and had his child. After getting her hooks into someone like that, are we supposed to imagine her sneaking around with or even thinking about Snape?

Why did Voldemort ask Lily to stand aside? I didn't see it as such a big deal. It was a matter of minutes. He didn't come with the intention of killing Lily, but she insisted on getting in the way.

Who else was at Godric's Hollow that night? Ok, maybe Snape, but I don't know why.

(A teacher? Then how can you say, "...there was someone else at Godric's Hollow..."
The word "there" in this sentence is undefined and therefore unacceptable.
Beware of pronoun abuse!
And how can you say "they" rather than "he" or "s/he" in "Why do you think they were there?"
The singular they --- the root of all evil!
Arrrrrrggghhh! It's like nails on the blackboard.)

Jo said that "Snape was loved once, unlike Voldimort..."
~Yeah he was loved by his mum.

Do you think that Snape is a guy only a mother could love?
~No. Snape has good qualities, like I've mentioned in other posts. I think he is seriously misunderstood.

Why does Snape react so forceably to being called a coward?
~Something happened, in my opinion surrounding the deaths of the innocent. He isn't bad at heart, he just has a bad disposition.

What do you think of my Snape and Lily theory?
~Remember what Lupin said? Lily was a kind woman, she saw the good in people especially when they couldn't see it in themselves. She defended Snape that day by the lake when Sirius and James were teasing him (with his own spells). She didn't care that he could be an a**, like she didn't care when she found Lupin to be a werewolf. She was uncommonly kind remember?

Why did Voldemort ask Lily to stand aside?
~He is a dark lord, people should crumble and fall before him with fear. And like all egotists he thought that he was invinclible and all should know that. He just murdered her husband without mercy. He probably thought that she would just "step aside". She should have seen that there was no hope, he was too powerful etc. He dissmissed her and her powers by telling her to "step aside". He never thought that she would be powerful enough to defeat him, he misjudged the power she had as a witch and as a mother. This was his ultimate downfall.

Who else was at Godric's Hollow that night?
~Humm I think that if its relevant it will come out in the last book. Maybe Wormtail since he was the secret keeper. Someone must have seen it in order for the story to have been told in such detail. How James stood up and defended his family and how Lily wouldn't "step aside". Someone must have seen it first hand.

Someone did see it first hand -- Harry.
From what I gather, Dumbledore suspected that something like that happened,
but no one knew the details until Harry started his patronis lessons.

I didn't mean for these questions to be prescriptive. Honest to goodnees, they were meant as starter thoughts. More for me than for anyone else really.
I liked your responses though. Big smiley stamp for the two of you.

I still see the 'stand aside you silly girl' as a strange statement. Voldemort must have been filled with bloodlust, having just killed James, with his prey in sight... then... stop?? Seems very weird that Voldy should burst through the door, see someone, anyone in his way and ... stop. .. Talk... Reason... Think? Why not just keep going?

Voldy reacted as an egotistical sh.t?? Yeah but again, why stop at Lily, even for a split second? He was on a murderous rampage. Why stop?? Even more reason for him to just to blast the room apart and kill everyone inside don't you think?

I don't like the 'Snape was there' theory either but I gotta say I like it more than the 'Harry was there' thought because that's too obvious I reckon.

How about: 'Petigrew was there'? This might constitute a nice link back to Petter- the whole 'owes Harry a life debt' thingo has to be woven in at some stage, yeah?? Just thinking...
Not grammatically correct, but thoughts nonetheless Gotta love that!
