On her website JK Rowling says that the first chapter of book 6 - HBP - was almost used in other books. Does anyone know more?

I heard that too. I also heard that she rewrote the first chapter of the first book many times, because they all gave away too much info.

I wonder why the chapter didn't work in te first place.

maybe she mentioned the hbp or that someone of a certain family decendant will be the hbp. Iwill read the first chapter in case she left something in it.

That might be why... But why wouldn't she have just taken the prt about the HPB out? BTW, wouldn't Harry have to be at the Dursley if it is the first chapter?

it was going to be used in Chamber probably.she had 2 modify Chamber so there was no trace of hbp in.my friend said that an extract was posted on jk's site.sumthin bout a guy with hair like a lion's(all over the place) and sumthin like he looked through at the world in glasses or sumthin.i mite be up for correction on the quote but if its true then that guy would hav2 be related 2 james in some way.Untamable hair and glasses are the mark of a Potter.Who is this mysterious character then?
