Neville Longbottom

Is Neville Longbottom a pure-blood or half blood?

i think half . In the 6th book . THe prophecy mentioned that a chld will be born.................. i think it was why voldemor had to kill harry but it could have been neville . It's complicated and since harry is half blood and him and neville are alike i think he is half too.

I'm asumming half, because in the fifth book, Dumbldore says to Harry that the prophecy could have fit either neville or him, but I don't remember if the profecy saif they had to be half born or what, so now I'm confused. Hmm...

But, I still think that Neville is half blood. maybe he is the HBP!

Nothing about being half-blood in the prophecy.

On JKR's site she says that Dean Thomas' family description (Dean is half muggle, father protected family but was killed by Death Eaters) was sacrificed to focus more on Neville who is more central to the plot of the story.

I just remembered, doesn't Dumbledore tell Harry that instead of Voldemort chosing Neville, the pureblood, he chose Harry, the half-blood, just like him? Does anyone remember this?
