Well maybe we can get a big enough crowd to go to JKR house to make her do one more book after the 7th jut so we know what happens to eveyone after the 7th book? But of course we need to first see what happens before we do that??

There's a nice notion here that I can't believe I missed when I answered this post before. That's the bit about Voldemort and Lily.

One of the v. first posts I made was - having transplanted the idea from muggle.net - about why Voldemort bothered to tell Lily to step aside????? He'd just killed James, his adrenalin(if he has any) was pumping, he was DEFINATELY in a killing mood but he doesn't just come in a blazing??? Why????
Why "Get out of the way you silly girl"??? Is he just a mysogonist or had Voldemort meet Lily/ known each other before????

Wow - I know, I didn't need to quote the above, but I've only just figured out how to do it - that Lily Potter gets around, don't she? First James, then Lupin, now Voldemort. It's a wonder that Harry isn't some kind of mutant snake/werewolf with messed up hair and the ability to play quidditch, isn't it? Interesting point though. Maybe Voldemort's just a big softie under that tough exterior and doesn't like to hurt women? Then again, maybe it's just that Lily wasn't armed - I've always imagined the death scene with Lily cradling Harry in a corner - and he's got some kind of twisted code of ethics? I know, I know, stretching it here. To be honest, I only did this post so that I could test out the whole quoting thing.

That's amazing!! That you should phrase it like that: "Lily wasn't armed"!! That's something I've been ... well, not really thinking about but has been lurking JUST outside my thoughts!! Did Lily have her wand?? Did she perform the protection CHARM with her wand??? Kinda have to I reckon.

Jo's said that "the fact that Lily's wand was good for charms will be important". Why didn't she just say 'Lily was good at charms"??? Why her "wand"??? Where are the Potters' wands?? (they can break. Hagrid's and Ron's are evidence of that. Did the wands go bang when they did??) Where are the Potters' bodies/ graves??

We're meant to find out "all we will ever need to know' about 'that night' so I guess we'll see

What do you think of the theory (pretty old now but still...) that Voldy owed Lily a 'wizard debt'/life debt which she passed on to harry by sacrificing herself for him??? I don't know. Just one of those whimsical, out there, we won't ever really know 'til thebooks but it's fun to pass the time away theorising, kinda things. Still ...????

I never thought of that either? Maybe Lilly did save Vold live or he owers her but when she would not move he said I am bad anyways so I will kill as well. But I think she did not have her wand I am sure she was holding harry very tightly. This is a good theory.

We only think Lily was holding Harry because she appeared to be holding him in the film 'PoA'. The movie was made before Jo had written anything about what really happened 'That night' (she still hasn't). Therefore we don't know really what LIly wasw doing or where her wand was
