i remeber that he said that voldemort would chose his equal from parents who 3 times escaped voldemort born on the 29th(i think) of september and sumthing else.

no not september i think july or august because his b-day is always before school begin so i am more saying august. but about what mark evans said about remember why voldemort choose the half blood i think he decided to choose someone that is more like him thinking it could be no one but him i mean voldemort is more similar to harry than neville and probably he was so nervous he didn't bother to wonder , but as we all know he choose the rigth person if he had tried to kill neville neville would have died and he would have never know that harry was the one that the prophecy was talking about , maybe no one would know so it worked out for the better

Yeah see. HP must have the equal powers of LV but I think it is Neville because we have not really seen what he can do. I mean at the end of the 5th book his face gets smashed in but does he give up no he tries with all his might to help TOOTP out. So it might be him?

Dumbledore said he had no doubt it was Harry in the prophesy because Voldemort had marked him with a scar on his forehead. So Dumbledore is convinced its not Neville.

Yeah It is HP but HP also said why did LV not wait for them to grow up to see who to really kill and the reason is because D said that there was a person sitting listing to the prophecy but did not her the rest of it so LV had to choose one that might be a the greatest threat so he got ride of the Half blood which is HP.

So even though I keep say NL I am probably wrong and it will be a a new character and we will all be shoked. Again JK take the lasdt person you would suspect anyways?

thank god, after reading the first couple of responses to this question i thought have any of you read the book? at least some of you have, neville is def a pure blood, someone got it right when they said dumbledore told harry that voldermort marked him as his equal and not a pure blood (neville) duh.

Sorry Winky but I don't understand what Dean Thomas has to do with the discussion about whether Neville's a half blood. I think our obsession with trying to find the Half Blood Prince is spilling over into every chat about every character.

Meischa(sp? sorry) makes a great point: why does V choose Harry/the half blood as the primary threat? Neville would seem the most logical because he's a pure blood- which is obviously considered better;stronger etc. by those that V had been hanging out with for the last 60odd years (ie Slytherins/dark magic types). Added to this, Neville's parents are Aurors- pretty impressive and dangerous.

All this begs the question: what were Harry's parents jobs and did this influence V's decision that Harry was the threat?
