Perhaps I am reading too much into this, but one of Dumbledore's middle names is "Brian". He has all of those other more "magical community"-esque names, but suddenly "Brian" is right in the middle of it. Does this mean our great headmaster is half-blood?

Also something that came up in a conversation on SS:
"You flatter me. Voldemort had powers I will never have." (Dumbledore)
"Only because you're too--well--NOBLE to use them." (McGonagall)

Was McGonagall just searching for a word better than "nice or good", or was she referring to the fact that he really is nobility and it came out as 'pardon-the-pun-but-I'm-saying-it-anyway'?

And something else that's bothering me: Dumbledore was the Transfiguration Teacher at Hogwarts in CoS. In the OotP, he was about to arrested and suddenly he just disappeared! Everyone says that you can't apperate or disapperate around/in Hogwarts, so am I the only one who thinks he transfigured himself into something and was whisked away by Fawkes (who, btw, is VERY loyal--look at how he took a direct shot from Voldemort for Dumbledore)??

Therinian: Nice!! Dumb didn't disapperate though 'cause you can't. He grabbed Fawkes' tail and disappeared but, you are right, how? Just another of Fawkes' amazing talents I suppose. Maybe he had to fly Harry, Ron, Ginny and Lockhart up 'cause there were too many of them to 'pop' back anywhere. He can 'pop' about where ever he likes with one passanger. This could be handy later if our Harry needs some prompt rescuing.

I don't know about Dumb being the HBP though 'cause he just doesn't fit the description. His hair is always described as silver-white not ginger.

Hello i'm new here! So i realy think that Godric Gryffindor is in fact the half blood prince. JK said that the prince was someone that knew things about a distance past. So it could be him and may be harry could "travel in time" like he did with Tom Riddle diary's to see Godric and something that he could want to show! Maybe Godric has put some of his thougts and memoires in the Pensieve like Dumbledore do. And the Pensieve we can see on HBP cover is an important pensieve where Harry can see Godric in the past and important things.
