Here's another fact: JKR says"There's no trace of the HBP storyline in the 'Chambers....Rather it relates to a discovery Harry made in 'Chambers' that foreshadows something that he finds out in 'Prince'" My votes on the diary. Either because it is a way of communicating with the dead or because it's a way that one person can divide themselves into many (hundreds of Voldemorts). What do you reckon? I need to reread the CoS I think |

| Buffy: Re-reading these books becomes a way of life. Why the Longbottoms were totured is unclear. For me it contributes to the notion that Bellatrix tortures for fun. On the other hand, JKR did remove some info from the original drafts so perhaps I have the wrong take altogether. The diary to me was just a stage prop for the one book. I don't think it will rear its ugly head again. Tom Riddle's memory living as a ghost in a diary and then reappearing in flesh and blood at the very same time that old broken down Voldemort was trying to make a come-back somewhere in the Forbidden Forest was quite a stretch. What if Harry had failed and Tom were re-born? What a mess that would be. Voldemort would literally be in 2 places at once. Who would prevail? Would the two join forces? Maybe Voldemort would put his rotted out head on top of Tom's totally buff 16 year old body. Tom wouldn't like that much. What guy would want to be stuck with red eyes, bad breath and no dates. Whoa! That sounds like one of MY old friends. Now I'm scared. |

| Zonko: Yucko to the V head but I like the sound of "totally buff 16 year old body": You mean it's for me, a present! You shouldn't have!!! So you're sticking to your travelling spider salesman is the link to CoS are you? How 'bout Aragog? Front cover has D and Harry going through a forest....maybe to visit Aragog??? What a reach!!!! Communication devices, even with the dead, does seem to play a role in the 6th. We know the "mirror" (Sirius's? or Erised?(sp)) will be "relevant"....??? |
