Chances are snape didn't really want to kill Dumbledore.
Remember, in the begging Snape promised Narcissus (however you spell that) that he'd take care of Draco, no matter what!
When the lot were up in the tower he had to kill Dumbledore or Draco'd be in big troubleness. And he'd die too!
That was probably why he killed but most likely didn't want to

im a bit torn, snape did do the unbreakable vow, but i had the feeling he was just doing it to shock Bellatrix. it even said his hand was twitching. But he might be dumbys man, because remember what he told harry and the rest of his class during their 1st year, "i will teach you.......even how to put a stopper to death..."
