I don't think it quite works as a vanishing cabinet because with those, you actually have another one to get out of. But then again, there is no corpse, and no one really knows what's in the department of mysteries...it might be possible.

I'm here Shelby! I'm here!! Wow I go to the shops for a minute and the family moves house. That hasn't happened to me since I was a kid! :P

That ampitheatre scene is really interesting. The whole hearing whispered voices thing and Harry thinking it was Ron and everyone -except Hermione- becoming entranced by the voices and the arch/death, is all really telling I reckon. Does it hint to the death of Ron and/or Hermione?? Bit unthinkable I know but I'm with Slopey, the arch and ampitheatre - the whole Department of Mystery- has to play a part in the end.
