After re-reading the books so many times to see how they connect, I can no longer pick a favorite. To me the books as one long story and now I think in terms of favorite chapters and paragraphs. It's like building a pyramid. You start out big and end up with a single point. Where have I gone wrong?

your right zonko ive read the books so many times its hard to choose but in the fifth book u find out what side people are really going to choose like percy hes ignorant to everything but his job and u start to see that in the fourth book after the world cup and i didnt like him to much before but now i believe that jk should slit his throat or something like that. and the whole thing with the fudge thing the third book hes like his god father and fifth book hes trying to expell and put in to prison for protecting himself from voldemorts dementors.

I agree with you Zonko that having read them all so many times it's difficult to separate them. I also agree with Wanna be when you say that it's hard to go past the first 'cause without that where would be be!! I love the 2nd/ CoS 'cause I did not see the Tom Riddle = Voldemort thing coming and I still remember the amazement of finding that out for the very first time. My fav. would have to be the 5th though because JKR managed to pack so much action, adventure and surprise into it. Unlike the 6th: OK I'm gonna put myself out there as a target of your scorn and derision one more time when I say that I think the 6th book was not as well written as the others. I think who ever edited this book should be shot. It was too long and too slow. There were too many drawn out conversations; ....said Ron,.... replied Hermione, .... shouted Harry etc etc. Additionally, when you stop and think, what really happened in the 6th? We find out about the prophecy. That's it. Before you all start posting everything else that happened, STOP! I know the book very well. I know other stuff happened but if anything did happen that will prove important later, it was buried in a dull (compared to the others), turgid soup of Harry's hormones and unnecessary discussion. Where was the humour in the 6th? Even Ron was serious. Thankyou JKR, for Fred, George and Luna, our only sweetners. I did love the book, I'm on my fouth time of reading it, it just wasn't as good as the others.

i loved the 5th book bcuz he is the most grown up and i can relate to him the most but i did really like the 3rd book i really liked that it showed him grow up on his own he learned to live on his own and protect his own 3 was really good

Well, my favourite book so far is book 6 (even though Dumbledore dies ), cause we see everybody growing up... even Ron's more mature! And Harry's a bit calmer than in book 5 (he sometimes got on my nerves with his impulsiveness!). Apart from that, everything seems to fit... y'know, almost all the pieces of the huge puzzle HP is are on the table, and after reading the 6th book, there are many mysteries that come to an end. Cons: I miss Sirius so much ![]()

i like all the books, i cant really place a favourite but i like reading them because the characeter are always getting older and therefore changes are occuring just like in real life. i cant wait for the next book. ![]()
