Of course you wouldn't. That's the nature of reading a story. We care more about the hero. You really think if you had heard whispers in the book of her doing that to some unknown Slytherin 4th year you'd care as much?
But that isn't really my point anyway.

You have no idea how I'd feel...[I've always favored the sidekicks and background characters....]. That's why I'm telling you, lol.
And I think you did have a point about it somewhere up there....

I would care if we had the same amount of detail.
I care about Stan Shunpike, and about
Hagrid's stint in Azkaban (when it wasn't so cushie).
If I knew the details of the Ministry's historic abuse of goblins, I'd probably care.
It's just that, with side characters, you don't always get the full story.

Or you get the side characters stories in dribs and drabs. Such as the plight of House Elves, how werewolves and giants are treated. Its easier to see the dribs and drabs as small things... not contributors to a big whole - you get my drift?

To what? We're talking about Umbridge, and abuse of authority.

I agree. Fudge was in denial. He's not evil, he's stupid... [/b]
He's like Bush. If Bush had half a brain -- If he knew what he was doing before he got us into this mess, we'd have to call him a mass-murderer. The trouble is, I really believe he is as stupid as he is pretending to be.

No, that doesn't make it ok. He is still dangerous and should be removed from power. Still, he didn't mean no harm.

Well that's nice.

We're essentially talking sins of omission and sins of comission here. The latter is not worse than the former.

Well, the effect is basically the same - innocent people in 3rd countries still die due to Bush's policies. Then again, who am I kidding? Australia's government joined in... so we're no better.
