surprime witch: Hello. I agree that the line : "The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies." does have some ambiguiety to it. That though Voldemort or Harry might have the power to kill the other, doesn't necessarily mean that they will kill. However, the line: "and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives." does suggest that one of them will die; that Harry has to be either a murderer or a victim. I don't think the HBP ties into this quote at all. Why? Do you think that the HBP might tip the scales iun Harry's favour or Voldemort's? We haven't been told yet - as far as I know - if the HBP is on Harry's side or not. As I've said before, I think it would be horrible of JKR to giive Harry anpther foe to fight. Then again she's done it to Harry every book so why not again this time?! What do you think? |

| Here are unquie thoughts... Ever wonder why Hogwarts is a castle? True it could have a been an aboned thing the four heads found, then again one it could be one of the founder's "home." We know it's not Slytherin because he was pure blood, but how much do we know about Gryffindor? He did have a rather nice sword, perhaps he is the half blood prince. What about Dumbeldore... remeber his name in the OotP? It was long and lengthy and had all those royal names from the King Arthur time period. What about Headless Nick? Why was he beheaded? He does have the title sir... There are some prespects I dont believe Jo Rowling has defeated yet. Also, if you read in the OotP when ever they push over the rows to escape another prophecy fell and it said something about the last evil will fall and and there will never be someone as evil as him. Perhapps this is a good one to consider also. |

| SerousPadfoot: I got the impression that the castle of Hogwarts was built by the founding magicals - Rowena, Helga, Godric and Salazaar. Nearly Headless was almost beheaded because he tried to fix a woman's teeth and grew them into walrus tusks instead (see JKR's official site in 'Miscellaneous' > 'characters' > 'nearly headless nick') Dumbledore doesn't, to my mind, fit the description of the HBP. No ghosts would fit the description either. I don't think HBP's anyone we've met before. BACK TO THE PROPHECY: Another interesting thing that JKR said about the prophecy occurred when she was answering a question about Neville's folks. *She states that the Lestranges were definately sent to kill Neville's parents, NOT Neville! *"I can't say too much about this because it touches too closely on the prophecy and how many people knew about it, but the Lestranges were not in on the secret." *Who was the eavesdropper at the door at the Hog's Head who heard half the prophecy? - Why were the Longbottoms such a threat? Did they know about the prophecy? If they did, why was that dangerous? (Jkr, to my reading, seems to imply that they were one of the few that knew about the prophecy) - Why didn't Voldemort tell the Deatheaters about the prophecy? - Why is it important that only a few knew about the prophecy? - Who was the eavesdropper? Someone spying on Dumbledore maybe?? Lupin?Petigrew? |

| wel hermione is not 'half blood' or even 'full blood', she has no wizard parents, none at all. and how can u say that dobby could be HBP when he was the one warning harry (2nd book) about not going back to school cause terrible things will happen that year. u r all confused <_< |
| |||
| dont you guys think that mayb harry could be the HBP coz it fits doesnt it, his mother was a muggle and his father was a pure blood or voldermort could be the HBP coz his father was a muggle, it just gives u something to thing bout. <_< |

| Jo has said that the HBP is definately NOT Harry or Voldemort. Here's the description we have been given of the HBP: (He) looked rather like an old lion. There were streaks of grey in his mane of tawny hair and his bushy eyebrows; he had keen yellowish eyes behind a pair of wire-rimmed spectacles and a certain rangy, loping grace even though he walked with a slight limp. I don't think it's anyone we've meet before do you?? It certainly isn't a student. |
