Book 1 Questions

Wow! There are a lot of things we don't know from the first book. Everytime I post a new topic, something else about the first book catches my eye, and I have to post another topic about it.

Anyway, can you think of anything else that we don't about from the first book?

Did you know that Harry was a wizard?

I wonder what exactly was in that letter that Dumbledore wrote to the Dursley's when he left Harry on their doorstep.

I don't think they did everything Dumbledore told them to do because of what he sent Mrs. Dursley in the 5th.

It probly said take care of Harry. thats my guess. It might be wrong.

Well, obviously, but there had to be something in there that convinced them not to put him up for adoption and I want to know what!

I have to say, I always imagined something, coming from Dumbledore, a little more subtle, complex, and manipulative than simply "Do no put Harry up for adoption." Of course, it could just be that since they had agreed to take him, they were sealing the protection charm as well as promising not to put Harry up for adoption.

I'd like to know how that protection charm worked exactly.

I would agree with you, I'm sure Dumbledores approach would be more subtle. I also wonder if Dumbledore and Petunia ahd any encounters before she received his howler? It would be nice to have the Howlers affect on petunia more clearly expained.
