actually - Petunia HAD sent a letter to Hogwarts as a child when Lily was soon to join. I daresay Dumbledore'...

actually - Petunia HAD sent a letter to Hogwarts as a child when Lily was soon to join.

I daresay Dumbledore's letters would have had a common theme.
Perhaps something that would have reminded Petunia how much she loved Lily particularly in their childhood days.

I agree there is some mystery here.

But something compelled the Dursley's to take the boy ....could they have

a smidgon of decency?

There was something related to the question of why they took him in book 6 ..." Remember my last Petunia..." Dumbledore's words to Petunia , but I forget what that was about.

I just watched movie one again yesterday ...wow...they were so little and cute!
