I don't expect you to change your mind.
I'm just happy if people can acknowledge some of the good things about Snape.
and I'm super happy if people acknowledge some of my theories about Snape. I don't think Snape would be comfortable with public adoration.
yet another reason why i like him. He did his job, without wanting public recognition or praise.

completely the opposite of slughorn -who did EVERYTHING for connections, and praise, and recognition and prestige.

I think Snape did more good for the order by being exactly who he was.
Slughorn had to be convinced to come to Hogwarts...

it is interesting the different traits of the slytherins...

I'd like to compare and contrast Harry and Snape:
Harry Snape
1. Shy around girls. Really shy around girls.
2. Wanted revenge on Voldemort for killing Harry's parents. Wanted revenge on Voldemort for killing Harry's mother.
3. Would like nothing better than to duel Snape. Always protected Harry, at any cost, including his life.
4. Had greatness thrust upon him. Achieved greatness.
5. Killed Voldemort. Killed by Voldemort.
6. Good from the beginning. Good at heart, but took a while to get on the right side.
7. Tormented for ten years by his aunt, uncle, and cousin. Tormented for years by his parents.
8. Normally popular, except with Snape & Slytherins. Never popular, especially with Harry's father.
9. Almost died to stop Voldemort. Really died to stop Voldemort.

Is it just me, or is something wrong here?

wow I never realized that there were so many parrel things between Harry and Snape

they were both outstanders
they were both smart too and brave

but-

Harry made good friends - Snape the wrong ones.
Harry didnt like dark magic - Snape loved it
Harry didnt consider the dark side for a second - it was Snapes dream to be one of Voldemorts men

Harry spent a great deal of his time at Hogwarts NOT being a popular one. particularly during the chamber of secrets, and the goblet of fire....
Same with Snape.

Harry was helped and influenced by the other students in his house.
Same with Snape.

Harry spent a great deal of his older teenage years being doubted by the general public and the ministry.
I would assume the same applies with Snape as a fledgling DeathEater.

If Snape had been placed in Griffindor.... do you think he would have been different?

but he wasnt placed in Griffyndor. and thats what matters.

and about the ministry being suspicious;
in Harrys case, they were wrong
in Snaps case, they were right

i do not hate Severus Snape. I pitty him.
