She is an EXCELLENT role model
She's not afraid to be the smartest witch of her age
When she makes a promise, she keeps it
She's loyal

Hermione doesn't let people push her around. For example when she punched Malfoy in the third book, that was awesome!!!!

She also uses her head, while Harry might sometimes want to act on his first instinct Hermione thinks things through, by having the two of them work together makes for a perfect balance.

The most popular reason I think that people like Hermione is that she is smart and down to earth. Because she comes from muggle parents and is one of the greatest witches she makes me wish I could have magical powers.

If anyone else feels that way let me know.

I love Hermione because she is smart, brave, and doesn't conform to what's 'popular' or anything like that. JKR said in an interview that girls are supposed to want to read the books and want to be Hermione, not Pansy.

Hermione is highly, highly intelligent, logical, and thoughful, but she also has a strong personality. She is capable, mature, and understands the importance of knowledge, as well as the application of that knowledge.
She's definitely one of my favorite characters. I see many of her characteristics in myself (or is that many of my traits in her?).

Yeah, definitely the brightest witch of her age.
